Remember ten years ago, when they barely talked on the interviews (except for Hayden) and still looked like a bunch of awkward teenagers? Boy King is by no means my favourite album of theirs, but every time I see how they evolved, how they look more confident as musicians and performers, I feel so glad for them.

Why are the dislikes so high? The ratio is usually way lower on music videos, awesome song ofc.

I am fairly new to this genre of music, can anybody give me any suggestions on finding similar music ?

Just glancing over the comments here, I've noted that many long time fans are not liking this song or their new sound in general. I just discovered Wild Beasts a few days ago and for me, I am glad that I listened to this most recent album first. I am in love with most songs from Boy King, especially Ponytail. Yes, it is a little "mainstreamy" sounding in the regard that the songs are catchy and there is a bit of a pop/dance feel to them. They are polished songs, multidimensional, and just plain fun. When I went back listening to samples from their entire discography, my personal opinion is that none of their other past songs really stood out to me as anything special and some seemed even cheezy.
I understand the feeling of disappointment when a band you love veers off the rails and comes back with a different sound. I just wanted to post from the perspective of a brand new fan that I personally became a fan because of this new sound. It is theatrical, doesn't take itself too seriously, makes you want to move, and it's put together brilliantly with a lot of confidence and passion. I say Bravo! If you're reading these comments, Wild Beasts, do not get discouraged. For every fan who is disgruntled, you have gained a new one! If you come to Seattle, I will be there!

Smother is my fave Wild Beasts album. I quite like electro-pop so this song works for me. On one hand I'm a bit saddened to see the band lose the sound that originally drew me to them (Two Dancers & Smother) but on the other hand it'll be nice to have some original non-remixed Wild Beasts tracks that I can add to my party playlist.

Fuck yeah. There just aren't enough artists out there who are pushing the envelope and challenging themselves. Wild Beasts already sounded like no other band out there and even so they've changed the game again and it's fucking exciting!

After a few albums where songs explore softness and sexual atmosphere, I'd say this is a logical step for Wild Beasts.

wils beasts is my fav band for sure but as a musician I have to say.. this song sucks. one can not assume that this is beasts' evolution. their previous works contains much more musical experience and are much more expressive in its ideas. Sorry Hayden.

Can we all just agree that "Get my Bang" is the least sexy thing anyone has said since the legendary pickup line by Enrique Iglesias - "Tonight I'm fucking you". Or, more recently, "Let's Marvin Gaye and get it on".

Beasts have had a habit of using less than romantic language to describe sex. This is typical stuff. Cracking tune.

I'm in the process of getting all the albulms on cd, amazing, I first saw discovered them with the wanderlust video played all the time here in Australia on TV when it was released. at first I wasn't feeling this song cause I fell in love with the more ethereal electric pop songs, only way I can describe them, but it's fantastic now, just different.

Does anyone not actually love this song? Of course it's a bit different from what they've done before, they're constantly developing their art. But it's still Wild Beasts. It's still deep and sensual.
