Wilco - On And On And On Lyrics
On and on and on we'll stay together yeah
On and on and on we'll be together yeah
You and I will try to stay together yeah
On and on and on we'll be together yeah
Don't deny what's inside
On and on and on we'll stay together yeah
On and on and on
On and on and on
One day we'll disappear together in a dream
However short or long our lives are going to be
I will live in you or you will live in me
Until we disappear together in a dream
You can't deny even the gentlest tide
On and on and on we'll be together yeah
On and on and on
On and on and on
We're going to try
Please don't cry
This world of words and meanings makes you feel
outside
Something that you feel already
deep inside
You've denied
Go ahead and cry
On and on and on we'll stay together yeah
On and on and on
On and on and on
You and I will stay together yeah
You and I will try to make it better yeah

Wilco On And On And On Comments
Hurts like hell, man...
This song hurts me like few songs ever do.
Wilco lead singer Jeff Tweedy wrote this song for his father after his mother passed away. His mom was one of the most important people in his life, always coming to his shows, and helping him whenever he needed it. The song says "On and on and on, we'll be together yeah", and "don't deny even gentlest tide". This means that they will always be together and that its okay to cry.
I have no idea how people can say this is Wilco’s weakest album with incredible songs like this, Impossible Germany, Side With the Seeds and You Are my Face
I think its their best album!!! Total masterpiece.
tim jones I cycle between this, A Ghost is Born, YHF (of course) and The Whole Love. Could never choose an outright favourite though
Wilco's best or second best album after Ghost is Born.
When I die, please burn me and play this song
Felt that.

the saddest song ever
Yes and no. There is also that hope to this song that kind of says that pain is an inevitable part of life, but it's something that we can live through.
It's a very beautiful Song with its deep meaningful song lines, which reveals some vital truth of life. It's writer Vincent Giarrusso Glenn Bennie deserves a Hats off for writing such a lovely Song and equally well sung. My best wishes for its lyricist and Singer. Ravindra K Kapoor
@crujones27 no, Tweedy actually did write this song...
@Ravindra K Kapoor Tweedy wrote it...
Tweedy wrote this!
Amy Voorhees Yeah, I thought he wrote this after his mother died. Idk, but I listened to it when my mother died, and my grandmother, and other loved ones. I think I've wept to this song more than any other song.
