Who, The - The Goods Gone Lyrics
I know when I've had enough
When I think your love is rough
[chorus:]
The good's gone
The good's gone
The good's gone
The good's gone out of our love
I know it's wrong
We should enjoy it, but
The good's gone
The good's gone
Once we used to get along
Now, each time we kiss, it's wrong
[chorus]
Now it ain't no fun
And the good's gone now
We used to love as one
But we have forgotten now
I know when I've had enough
When I think your love is rough
[chorus]
It's gone forever

Who, The The Goods Gone Comments
Classic
Advanced light years, as in so many other aspects, were magnificent
This is before Roger developed his roar, but still powerful as hell on all fronts - songwriting, arrangement, bass, drums, guitar, vocals, harmonies. Fucking great
Best song off their debut, hands down!
this is not a love song !
The good is gone, but we still have great music like this to resort to.
This song ranks up there with some of their best of all time long live the who
Awesome!
Only greatness was ever going to come from an early song as good as this.. and it did
Without a doubt the most underrated Who song of all.
The Who’s first album excellent
I want a Rickenbacker 12 string now..
The Voice from Roger Daltrey is incredible
The Who were at their best in the 60s, IMO.
It's every bit as compelling 50 years later.
I'm like #250.
I heard that Jimi Hendrix and Pete Townsend were the greatest guitar players in the 1960's.
You heard wrong. There were lots of others.
Who the hell are the two who don't like this song??
classic mod
This is more punk than mod.
The best fucking band in the world - EVER!
Hands down!
What a gorgeous bass! Fuckin Entwistle.
Was never a Who lover but this is the standout song I remember from their first album some 50 Yrs ago
Whats gone are songs as good as this one!
Did Iggy get inspiration here? That's a good song, that.
Check out The Belfast Gypsies, a spinoff of the Irish R&B band "Them", and you can tell that Iggy got it all from Jackie McAuley.
An early blast of punk. Love it!
Way ahead of its time. That snarling voice basically screams Iggy Pop
This song will always be very good! ;)
Defamation post: Groovy tune.
Check out Funny Feeling by The Easybeats. They might have borrowed the beginning riff of The Good's Gone for Funny Feeling. The Easybeat's intro sounds very similar to this.
My favorite Who song.
truthaxe, where is your record contract?
TruthAxe - it's all about attitude, if you don't get that U have no idea what Raw'kn'Roll is all about . . . sorry ;)
I only hear this on Little Stevens' UG on Sirius/XM. WHY???
@TruthAxe the who is one of the greatest rock bands of all time they have influenced musicians from pearl jam nirvana foo fighters kiss aerosmith motorhead police bruce springsteen iggy pop david bowie cheap trick judas priest iron maiden jackson browne the clash sex pistols james taylor show respect for all the great music they have given us
the who is timeless watch the documentary on the concert for new york with paul mccartney and all bill clinton can do is rave about the who's incredible performance.
Was Roger's hair really that orange - or just the colour process ?
lol had same thought
Love it.
1964 - 1968 beats the hell out of anything since !
I think this was 1965 ?
The reason being, artists were allowed creative control over their material during this period. Unfortunately all that's left is recycled rap and American Idol/Disney pap. If any good groups came along today, they'd be so well hidden you'd need to hire the CIA to find them.
WHO'S NEXT is pretty good too
@harmike17 - You're suppose to come up with a "witty" comment like: "1 person hasn't lost the good" :D
who's the fuck stick that disliked this?
Rock & Roll!!!!Great track.
A strong classic from the very first Who album!
great song
@TruthAxe You're 47 years old. LOL
@TruthAxe It's called being diverse, which is what, you know, good bands do...
Why is it that I only heard this on Little Stevens' Underground Radio on satellite radio? I'm 54, I've never heard this on commercial radio, not even the "classic rock" stations. It'a a great song. Thanks for putting this on, theseeker23. Jeff T.
Great punk cut that puts to shame the fake stuff that came a decade later--
Zero dislikes, mafakah. What.
@modsheff1 Man I love the pioneers too. Nazareth, The Who, Deep Purple, and the stones are friggin great pioneers man.
fuckin class....cocky as fuck.....not bad for a track 46 years old..
cant get enough of this!!!
The raw and youthful energy of their first album sounds as fresh as it did when it came out in '65...pure magic
great song
If somebody talked something about british invasion.
fantastic song! It will last for centuries and even farther still
one of the best who songs ever should have been an a side no doubt about it
this is punk 10 years before!
Exact proto punk and metal too .... my opinion !
the intro that inspired a million bands!!
even the Trip Hop ending is beyond it's time!
Killer band.
stone cold blooded killer of a song.
