Who, The - Tea & Theatre Lyrics

Will you have some tea
At the theatre with me?
We did it all
Didn't we?

Jumped every wall
Instinctively
Unravelled codes
Ingeniously

Wired all the roads
So seamlessly
We made it work
But one of us failed
That makes it so sad
A great dream derailed

One of us - gone
One of us - mad
One of us - me
All of us sad
All of us sad

Lean on my shoulder now
This story is done
It's getting colder now
A thousand songs

Still smoulder now
We play them as one
We're older now
All of us sad
All of us free
Before we walk from this stage
Two of us

Will you have some tea
Will you have some tea
At the theatre with me

How cool, just to see two guys who preserved most of us will never understand the emotions they went through, but we feel it in there music that is why today they can fill a stadium. How cool and to the younger generations please be free

I love THE WHO, and Roger is a fantastic front man, but WHAT was going on with Townsend and that so-called book he was ment to be writing,???.something didn't weigh up, and it's fucked me off as I can't listen to them as I used to,

  12. M.... P....

one of Petes best songs. Roger is brilliant here even at his age. A song of an ending/looking back to their career. Fortunately they are still here for us to enjoy.

  13. B.... J....

Just awesome. Roger's voice both powerful and occasionally fragile. Brilliant.

    B.... J....

Great way to describe it, fragile, so much emotion, yearning, yet loss. Pete's one of the greatest lyricists of all time.

just once Roger should have dead-panned, "we've had some tea, Pete Townshend and me".

Wonderful sounds from two genuine musical geniuses.
Much more feeling with the acoustic guitar.

    From a 72yo Aussie fan.

  21. K.... G....

Listening to this song tonight is the first time I actually feel old and sad about what and who has gone by me and that I will never get back or see again. I'm 48.

  22. r.... p....

I love singing this song, got so much meaning, and feeling x

  23. t.... ....

I know Daltrey is incredibly hard on himself and his voice as he has aged, but this in one of the most beautiful piece of vocals he has done. A little rougher, but full of love, full of soul.

  24. Y.... Z....

I agree with Jools Holland -the Who is the best band to have come out of Britain ... a CLASS act always!!
