Whitesnake - Blindman Lyrics
I was dreaming of the past,
Why do good times never last
Help me Jesus, show the way
I can't hold on another day
I just couldn't make out which way to go
Chasing rainbows that have no end,
The road is long without friend
Be my friend, be my brother,
Be the piper, play the call
Across the seven seas of wonder
Be the guardian of my soul
Just a young man looking homeward,
Across the water, the sun is shining,
But, will it ever, will it ever be the same
Be my friend, be my brother,
Be the piper, play the call
Across the seven seas of wonder
Be the guardian of my soul
I need somebody, I need someone,
I need somebody to call my own
Like a blindman, I can feel the heat of the sun,
But, like a blindman
I don't know, I don't know,
I don't know where it's coming from
Be my friend, be my brother,
Be the piper, play the call
Across the seven seas of wonder
Be the guardian of my soul
I need somebody, I need someone,
I need somebody to call my own
Like a blindman, I can feel the heat of the sun,
But, like a blindman
I don't know, I don't know,
I don't know where is coming from

Whitesnake Blindman Comments
This ain't the normal album version, I'm sure of it! In fact it's SOOO much better than the album version. It's both much softer and much more emotional, but has much more punch and impact than the one I'm familiar with. I absolutely love it!
Coverdale 's soul touching poem; other rock poet like him would be Rodgers & Mercury.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great song, from the (pre-sell out) days when Whitesnake were worth listening to.
This song stimulates my soul.
I was dreaming of the past,
Why do good times never last
Help me Jesus, show the way
I can't hold on another day
I was hungry, felling low,
I just couldn't make out which way to go
Chasing rainbows that have no end,
The road is long without friend
Be my friend, be my brother,
Be the piper, play the call
Across the seven seas of wonder
Be the guardian of my soul
Just a young man looking homeward,
Watching the sun go down again
Across the water, the sun is shining,
But, will it ever, will it ever be the same
Be my friend, be my brother,
Be the piper, play the call
Across the seven seas of wonder
Be the guardian of my soul
I need somebody, I need someone,
I need somebody to call my own
Like a blindman, I can feel the heat of the sun,
But, like a blindman
I don't know, I don't know,
I don't know where it's coming from
Be my friend, be my brother,
Be the piper, play the call
Across the seven seas of wonder
Be the guardian of my soul
I need somebody, I need someone,
I need somebody to call my own
Like a blindman, I can feel the heat of the sun,
But, like a blindman
I don't know, I don't know,
I don't know where is coming from
that's abslolutely unforgettable.
it doesn ´t beat the old version.
If I had a one shot time machine I would go back to 1978, from then to 1983 I think I saw Whitesnake 23 times, including Reading and Donington twice each, the records don't do them any justice really as they were just an awesome live band, Coverdale wasn't the singer that Dio was but his power and charisma were just mega watts beyond any of the other great frontmen of the time, it was a great period for live music, I can't remember which year it was but over a ten day period I saw both Rush, Whitesnake and Van Halen, happy days.
From Catalonia, màgic!
Classic whitesnake say no more.
Music is the world's best medicine. And this is the best pill.
what a hell mr. Coverdale don't turn back to sing this kind of music? The bluesy's songs of early Whitesnake was fabulous !
La voz!!
That sounds like a mix between soldier of fortune and mistreated
Great song!

Esta clase de discos cada año suenan mejor
I remember buying this album in 1980. Coverdale was peaking and so was I.
Great track. Here's where it came from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOr1stg9lds
Great Album. There's a lot of Purple members in this line up. Jon Lord Roger Glover Ian Paice and of course DC himself. 78-82 are the swansong years for Whitespace with so much great material
Victor Borg Roger Glover was never in Whitesnake
Bravo odlicno Koverdejlu. Genije si!
Wow! I m fucking speechless...
excellent song
Prefiro a versão do seu primeiro álbum solo
God bless you always Cozy Mel and Jon ... Rest in Peace , cheers for this guys
This song is so powerful...
A great song from WHITESNAKE's best period. Although I still like to hear Coverdale & Co., the change of style after 1987 has deprived the band of its roots.
That was Quality
Que grupo.Y que vos.cantones
Que grupo.Que voz cavranos
Just Feeling!!! Cheers and Life On !!!
Quite brilliant👍😃a sad lament, used to 'enjoy' drinking to this, stirs the soul. Coverdale is truly an amazing lyricist & singer☺🐛👯♀️Unsurpassed🐶🎤🎛Ain't gonna cry no more😭☺
'Be the piper, play the call'...
those four lines of the beginning of this song are amazing and that guitar is a incredible combination to the emotion.
I love the early stuff, I saw them at Birmingham Odean, England the week after I was 21 in 1979 on the love hunter tour. I have to agree with Gus Flannagan.
Great tune from Whitesnake
Masterpiece...stop.
Esse disco é PHODA.
Darko Beograde
I grew up with this music, it's in my blood, my entire being. Every time I hear this, i feel reborn. Nothing has ever influenced me like the music of the late seventies and early eighties. Bands like Whitesnake.are forever a part of me until my dying day.
Blindman has to be the Finest Blues/Rock track ever recorded xxx
When Whitesnake was Whitesnake
Many versions of this one. I like this version the best. Ready N Willing, Come N Get It and Slide It In are my fav's from Whitesnake. Coverdale has lots of awesome pre and solo stuff just as good. I agree +Gus Flannagan
The best Whitesnake song. Got me through a lot of shit...
This song is the greatest of all songs of WHITESNAKE.
I agree! I also love Northwinds
tsumapyon yes 💯
@Death Wish I also love '' Only my soul '' . .
@747panos Fabulous song! Say you love me is awesome too! Blindman, Time & Again.....I could go on lol. David has given us sooooooo many amazing songs over the years!
thanks lads for this excellent album, song👯brilliant☻
Great lyric, like a blind man I can feel the heat of the sun, cos I'm a blind man i don't know, where it's coming from. Thinking about my buddy Bala, who just passed away. Too young. Rest in peace my friend. We'd listen to this and lament the loss of a more musical time. Best of times.
Like a Blindman
I can feel the heat of the sun
But like a blindman
I don't know where its coming from.
Clive, I stand corrected. Gracias. Great song, no?
Indeed it is, one of Mr Coverdale's finest.
Just superb saw these live twice in the 80's top song from a top Group.
Too many songs that I really love to listen , but the blindman is my favourite song.great just great voices from DC . Love his voices awesome .
Espetacular
Hi There..
Here`s a song for ya ))
I was dreaming of the past,
Why do good times never last
Help me Jesus, show the way
I can't hold on another day
I was hungry, felling low,
I just couldn't make out which way to go
Chasing rainbows that have no end,
The road is long without friend
Be my friend, be my brother,
Be the piper, play the call
Across the seven seas of wonder
Be the guardian of my soul
Just a young man looking homeward,
Watching the sun go down again
Across the water, the sun is shining,
But, will it ever, will it ever be the same
Be my friend, be my brother,
Be the piper, play the call
Across the seven seas of wonder
Be the guardian of my soul
I need somebody, I need someone,
I need somebody to call my own

But, like a blindman
I don't know, I don't know,

Srdjan Japan Music superb lyrics, thanks☺
welcome..Its been a pleasure to share this tremendous song with you, folks !!
Srdjan Japan Music Brilliant lyrics c/o David Coverdale👍🐶💥👯♀️🎛🎼🎸
This is my fav by WS cause it has that DP feel to it. Well it has DC, IP & JL but Murrey & Bernie give it that twist that Makes it WS. Awesome Chemistry.
Great tune, great singer, but does sound very similar to Free - Be my Friend...
My favorite Snake song!
This entire album is just, ya know 🤘
This is more than beautiful, let the sun shine again
não é exagero dizer que me sinto mais perto do céu ouvindo essa música *--*
dulce..... david siempre .david !!! genio total
Dijo una vez, " Son mas las veces que me toco perder que las pocas que he ganado ", comparto tu apreciación, es un buen tipo
MAGNIFICO
at first I thought, this is them trying to make an Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City of their own, but no, what a glorious and moving tune on its own it's become
This was on David Coverdale's first solo album called Whitesnake which was released before the band Whitesnake even existed and before they recorded
Ain't No Love...
+Clive Bindley Tx for that information!
You're welcome.
miksi venäläiset kirjoittaa omalla kielellä... englanti niin muutkin ymmärtää
this song tells my story. long live d.c. you are genius !
wonderful !
Whitesnake at their best!
Is it just me or does this sounds like Rainbow?
+Clive Bindley there are hints here and there. The singing style... Not nearly as brill.... But about the ear waxing?
XD ears waxed...
Google it!
Bing it!
yahoo it
esta entre as top 3 mundialmente falando.... um hino
Oh yeah!!!!! Awesome high school memories with this album!!!!!
sto ih vse gledam neznam sta da kazem najbolji na svitu poz. iz dalmacije ovo je malo popunjavanje teksta
underrated whitesnake song. so fucking perfect might be the best blues rock song i ever heard. i do want to cover this song so bad. can relate to this one with my own life. and my second favourite whitesnake song. always love to hear this powerful song.
+Jamie Warrior Warlord McCallum - You're right this song is so underrated it's a crime almost. Another one of their songs from this era of their musical journey I'm a big fan of is "Only My Soul". If you haven't heard that song by Whitesnake definitely check it out as well. I don't think you will be disappointed. I inevitably will always listen to this song and "Simple Man" by Bad Company immediately following. For some reason they go together to me like peanut butter and jelly.
Absolutely (Only My Soul)!
Only my soul is hypnotic! Love Northwinds too!
Very nice song
fucking perfect blues rock song from whitesnake. man i want to cover this so bad. can relate to this one with my own life. and my second favourite whitesnake song. coverdale so fucking amazing huge fan.
Freaking AMAZING!!
@Becky Starr it is a great song.
Perfect song !
Love this song, love the album, great band... but I HATE the new stuff. Today's Whitesnake has got none of the feeling or soul or blues of the old band that went by the same name all those years ago. 1978-1982 rocks.
+Clive Bindley Steal Away with Mr Moody! Have you heard Ain't Gonna Cry No More "Airplay mix"? It is well worth a listen :)
+Gus Flannagan
I haven't but I'll check it out.
Thanx for the heads up!
We wish you well!
Gus Flannagan spot on!
Two different bands with the same singer, 1978 to 1986, and 1987 onwards.
Many bands change their style, get over it finally!! Or else you can listen to AC/DC, Motorhead, Running Wild and Yngwie Malmsteen who are playing the same things all the time (i am not saying that they ain't good, i just talk about their music style).
Be me friend be my brother
my second favourite whitesnake song, the hidden gem on the ready and willing album. i do love the blues rock feel of this song, so damm perfect, sometimes i feel blind where do i go next, but i have my friends and family and the lady of my dreams, i just want to achieve my dream. i really love this song.
Haven't heard this song in years cuz its too painful
Played it, shut my eyes, and could remember every word and inflection, mouthed along
Most people won't know this tune, that's the travesty.
God bless dad
I haven't listened to Whitesnake in years - lost my best friend almost ten years ago, this was her favorite song. It still makes me cry. I hope you found your peace, Ina.
좋아요
God whitesnake is fucking terrible. Nothing but imitators. This is a complete rip off of the amazing Free song Be my Friend. This is pathetic. If you want to hear the proper version, go check it out.
It does have a simmirler sound to it . Black Sabbath copied a lot Deep Purple song riffs everybody grabs little bit of somebody's stuff here and there it's called influence buy other bands DC and PR is to of my favorite singers I don't think they intentionally steal other bands stuff.
Thanks for the correction on the spelling little harsh on the correction though LOL. Peace my friend.
I need some money to comb my hair,
Need some money to run my home,
Like a bald man, i pray to God to let me go,
what if i'am a bald man,
Don't know how its gonna come on
A very nice 1980 version !
ich liebe Whitesnake...ich liebe und lebe diese Musik.....Blindman..
I remember endlessly playing this in the 6th form common room. Awesome song, along with "Ain't Gonna Cry No More" from the same album; seen Whitesnake 5 times, including Donington 1983 and Wembley Arena 1988; love their new stuff as well!
Regards from Greece! Whitesnake fan!
Kelas lagu ni.... teringat masa form 3 @ 4 ... pasang rata jukebox ..Tq whitesnake
Amen, brother!
All those comparing David to Plant have their heads firmly up their asses! David's voice is completely different and now - as they both are older - it's David whose voice is even better. Plant wrote some great lyrics, but David never "stole" from him. Plant DID steal from a ton of blues musicians though... People just don't get it...
Beautiful , then came along the Cock Rock !!! Lord,Moody Marsden,Paice,Murray and Coverdale.Whitesnake, the only Whitesnake.
Plus Bernie Marsden, Ian Paice and Jon Lord.
Awesome. Ty Jay
I'm just listening to vynyl :)
Blind Man is one of my favourites from Whitesnake's Ready An Willing album.
R&W is a great, great, great album from front to back. All those who falsely accuse Coverdale of ripping off Robert Plant haven't heard the old, good Whitesnake albums before 1987. ...and long live Mick Moody and Neil Murray too.
i have this version , all the versions i found in youtube where different !! this is better .
