White Buffalo, The - Good Ol' Day To Die Lyrics

Back in the 18th Century
When the west is wild as the eye could see
Pack up the wife and the wagon get some land for free.
Follow this trail to liberty
And oh, its a good ol' day to day to die
But I ain't gonna die today.

Dangerous road I don't think its not
where the sun is blazin' and my steel is hot
they carry rounds and my guns are out,
I go clack clack clack
so they can strech out.
In a box, Its a good ol' day to day to die
But I ain't gonna die today.

Lost out in the dust, its a hustle its a bustle
I've been lookin' to hell to get out....alone
Death comes a knockin' like a bullet from the shadow
Oh my god!!! I'm not ready for the light.

Men in black and poachers from the east,
So take your wife and the wagon and your family
You're never gonna get out of here alive
So up under this chin I blaze my .45
I said lord. But its a good ol' day to day to die
But I ain't gonna die today.

eh... 1780... american revolutionary war..pretty sure there were wagons.. and that's the 18th century.... so yea... go back to history class scotty boy.

    n.... ....

Going west and getting "some land for free" seems a pretty obvious reference to the land grants initiated by Jefferson after the Louisiana purchase (1803)...although there were vaqueros in Florida since the 17th century they didn't typically clash with English settlers until after the Spanish American war (1843)...and good luck getting them to stretch out in a box by going "clack clack clack" with your semiautomatic 45 in the 1700's

    n.... ....

I don't think going "clack clack clack" necessarily means it was semiautomatic, they could be fanning the hammer with their other hand. And Florida's not really relevant since we're talking about "the West," that's East coast. That said, I don't think the guy's a history expert so you're probably right about their being some anachronisms, which is fine by me, especially since I don't know enough to notice them

I love this music!! Am I the only history geek that noticed the historical error?...the song starts with.." Back in the 18th century"....when it is clearly referring to the 19th century...Wagons..get some land for free..mexican cowboys?...wrong era...but such a great song!!!!

    S.... P....

I think he's referring to the Native american land that they were taking, not the cowboy era. 18th century would be correct if you see it that way.
