My ex husband caused me so much trauma when he took my babies ages 2 and 10 months old then went into the court room and lied to them claiming that I tried to commit suicide in front of my children and not because he wanted them but to destroy me and then for the next 15 years he constantly used them as weapons over and over again and he had people convinced of all these awful lies about me as a parent and I later learned that he was physically abusing them and he constantly told them that I left them because I didn't want them brainwashing my daughter into believing that I abandoned them while making my son the scapegoat child unable to turn him against me and this went on for 15 years and my daughter now 24 refuses to have anything to do with me, I carried so much pain and hatred towards him for over 20 years it was destroying me so I had to let it go and forgive him before I could even begin the process of healing and without God's help I don't think I could have done it but I took my life back when I did, I'll never forget but I forgave. You can't ever find peace until you do so work with God and forgive them because only someone who is damaged themselves hurt others so as crazy as it sounds find compassion for the hurt they carry

One of the greatest thing one needs to do again n again though the pain makes it hard to forgive those who wrong us and sometimes the pain manifests its self again n again n forgiveness becomes one of the hardest thing to do even though it sounds easy. Now I teach myself to forgive in advance to avoid pain n set myself free.

Forgiveness means being able to not be angry and hateful towards an enemy and letting go of any impulse to seek vengeance on them for what they have done wrong. People who are saved in Christ Jesus have to forgive to be forgiven. I know it's much easier said than done. There are some terrible things people do to others that go far beyond just hurting their feelings.

Forgiving DOES NOT mean you have to invite the people who perpetually and intentionally hurt you back into your lives to resume their position of being an attacker. Just because you've had a change of heart doesn't mean they will suddenly change their actions. Forgiveness only controls how you feel towards them and should enable you to be able to help them if they needed help (thus the scripture "if your enemy hungers or thirsts, give him to eat or to drink") and to not inwardly hate them. But you can count yourself a fool if you try to maintain a relationship with someone who has proven they are against you. You're only setting yourself up for repetitive cycles of being hurt more and than potentially allowing yourself to be provoked to anger and hatefulness towards a person. We are still human, saved or not, and can only take so much before we snap.

Me personally, I knew I had sincerely forgiven some of my enemies when I felt a sincere urge to pray for them to be blessed and for God to save them. Jesus helped me to see that though they may have hurt me, he also died so that they could also be forgiven of their sins (even the very ones they committed during the time they attacked me) and saved. It can be so hard to wrap your mind around that, especially if the damage someone has caused was severe and really hurt you. But the love of God you receive through salvation helps you to better understand and internalize it. The concept of knowing that even the people who hurt you intentionally are the very sinful people God sent Jesus to save can be hard to wrap your mind around but it is was heavily depicted when Jesus asked the Father to forgive the very people crucifying him. It's precisely how we have to be when we earnestly pray for God to bless and save our enemies. But again, this doesnt mean you have to go and "hang" with them or be buddy-buddy or maintain a friendship/relationship with them. But if they came to you hungry and in need of help, or if you passed them by and they were stranded on the street, helping them or blessing them is how you not only show Jesus you are in his likeness and that you obey him, but that you have forgiven them. But once you help them, you can walk away without getting involved with them on a friendship/relationship level.

I was sexually assaulted by my now ex boyfriend and this is my prayer. Feb. 4th makes a year since it happened and recently in church I asked God "what do I need to do to make more time for you?" And instantly he gave me the word forgiveness and I honestly broke down I tears because I don't know how to begin to forgive him. He's caused months of sleepless nights and puffy eyes. Then today on the radio, I switched the station in the driveway as I got home (I always do this) and this song was on and the only part of the song I heard was "the prisoner that it really frees is you... forgiveness" and then my mom shut the car off.

Everybody, I would like to challenge you to forgive the one who has hurt you the most. It might seem impossible, but I'm learning slowly to do the impossible. The father that raped me will be forgiven with time. My real Father though is the one in heaven. Looking down and even with this traumatic event, he will strengthen me to forgive him for the worse offense of my life. From 4-11 I loved the man even when he did those things to me. I was raised by my single mother after the age of 11. My daddy served in Vietnam and got PTSD. Experienced all 3 types of abuse. To later in life i see my father 2 months before leaving to heaven. Long story short forgiveness for abondantmenent and abuse as a child made a huge impact in my life. Trusting men and forgiving was the highest forms of deliverance ive recieved from my Holy father but it must be done honestly, willingly, and done in full submission to his instruction of his word. In 2009, my son 5 yrs old and my daughter 3 yrs old we're molested by their mother. She recorded and took pics of her doing so. I told her just before she went to prison that I will never forgive her for what she has done to them. I was in a bad position in my life, blamed good for everything. In April of this year (2018) I was saved, it's been a long hard road and gave myself once more to God. Through him I have learned forgiveness. Not for she has done, but because God has forgiven all I have done, which in turn made me realize that I have to forgive her and teach my children to do the same. Thank you God for forgiving me for my sins.. God is great all the time.

There are things we do, that we unintentionally hurt others our mistakes echo through-out history and we do not know the things we have done because of the thing we chose to do or not to do.. God have mercy on us all... Thank God for his example of "Forgiveness". Remember you do not have to Forget what happened to you, or how that made you feel.
