Yeah, I was looking for it here on youtube as well, couldn't find it, I think that's because Jackson didn't want him to do this song because he (Jackson) felt that the song would be misrepresented and Black or White was really an anti prejudice song and he didn't want it parodied.

That's kinda good. Atleast Michael and Al respected each other's career and helped one another.

Not all of al's parodies are respectful, he has a pretty big exception with a song called It's Still Billy Joel to Me, that song is surprisingly nasty considering how nice weird al is in real life.

Also unreleased, because Billy Joel didn't approve.

I think Al probably would have second-guessed it and decided not to release it anyway. It is particularly mean-spirited and not up to the usual standard. "It's still Billy Joel to me", as a phrase, could be used in a more positive manner, alluding to how he writes songs in so many different styles (and some homages to specific artists), but you always know that distinctive voice.

Unreleased because Michael Jackson didn't approve; he didn't want Black or White to be parodied. It was going to be the lead song on the album that became Off The Deep End; when the song was cancelled Al wrote Smells Like Nirvana to replace it.

With Al's humor, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up making an album (or rather a mock-up of it) of all the rejected parodies, giving it the title _Unreleased Hits!_ and then never releasing it. After all, why waste a good comedy opportunity? :D

Al asked if he could put this song (Snack All Night) on an album but MJ said that he felt the original had a message that was too important, so he declined. Michael was a fan of Al but he never "requested" to have his songs parodied.

Yeah, all in all, he was generally cool with Al's work. MJ was even considerate enough to arrange for Al to make the _Fat_ video in the same location as _Bad._ What a nice thing to do, right? :)

I've seen a few of them and you're right, I think he uses that because food is a wide topic, plenty of words that sound like other words and that can be converted into innocent harmless humor. He actually gets their permission before he does this....otherwise, he probably wouldn't have lasted as long as he did lol........

Al doesn't even need artists' permission for parodies. His parodies are protected by law and he can make them if he wants. He chooses to ask the artists anyway because he wants to have a good relationship with fellow musicians.

Yep, it's out of respect. The issue with Coolio was obviously an unintentional fluke (and not that Coolio had any room to complain about getting permission). Otherwise, we'd have a load of Prince parodies.

He didn't want him to parody "Black or White" specifically b/c he didn't want people to lose the message. He wasn't ultimately against Weird Al. In fact, he admired Weird Al. He just didn't want the public to lose the idea of "Black or White".
