Weird Al Yankovic - Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies Lyrics
Beverly
Beverly Hillbillies
Huh, now lookie here people
A little story 'bout a man named Jed
You know something?
That poor mountaineer
They say he barely kept his family fed
Now, let me tell you
One day he was shootin'
Old Jed was shootin' at some food
When all of a sudden right up from the ground, there
Well, there came a bubblin' crude
Oil that is Well, maybe you call it black gold or Texas tea
He gonna move next to Mr. Drysdale And be a Beverly hillbilly...
Before you know it, all the kinfolk are-a-sayin'
Yeah, buddie, move away from there
That little Clampet got his own cement pond
That little Clampet, he's a millionaire
Now, everyone said Californie
Is the place that you oughta be
We got to load up this here truck now
We got to move to Beverly
Hills, that is
Swimming pools
Move-a-move-a-movie stars
Huh
Lookit that, lookit that
Beverly Beverly Beverly hillbillies
Y'all come back now, y'hear?
Beverly Beverly Beverly hillbillies
Beverly Beverly Beverly hillbillies
Beverly Beverly Beverly hillbillies

Weird Al Yankovic Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies Comments
Coolio need to see al been doin this a long time son
Nicely done.
Jed was always so friendly to everyone, even if they were rude to him. A good dad and a kind person. We should all be more like Jed.
Surreal Entertainment would like a word with you.
Al's the best.
Wow how did I miss this back in the day. Great mashup. And of course excellent Weird Al Yankovic as usual
I’ve always liked the intro to Beverly hillbilly’s it’s the best part lol
Lol California is swarmed poor people shitting on people’s property lol
This isn't the first time Al wrote a song about a classic TV show.
Something seriously wrong with a person who can listen to "Money for nothing" and hear the "Ballard of Jed Clampet"
You wake up and you find yourself having been turned into a cgi person. And you ask yourself my god what have I done? As the days go by...
I love UHF!
I didn’t get this at first when I was a teenager. Now that I know the backstory behind this whole song and video (and what they were based on), I think it’s brilliant.
And now, the Beverlies, Les, and Earl!
the best part is its such an abrupt cut from the rest of the movie perfect
I love that movie UHF
For those too young to remember U.H.F. was Yankovic's film debut on June 22, 1989. The reason it failed big time at the box office was because it was released on the same weekend as Tim Burton's "Batman" Also "Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade & Ghostbusters 2" were still in theaters from the week before. It didn't stand a chance in theaters.
That animation probably cost a fortune to make back in the day.
@1:30 - Good doggie!
I love the beginning where he's dozing off with the clip of Beverly Hillbillies in the background 🤣
Oh my goodness those primitive 3D visuals!
Much better than when he parodies garbage Top-40 crapola of today.
bruh i can’t believe Weird Al stole from Rusty Cage. smh.
“WIERD” Al Yankovic? With that guitar action, and excellent parodies, more like *WIRED Al Yankovic!
"That little Clampett he's a million.....aire"...oh my God I'm dying
This is too funny. He's got every single detail down. Loved the "Beverly...HILLS that is ...."
🤣🤠
Y'all come back now ya hear? 🤣
He's brilliant
loved this movie as a kid
I just discovered the original song and find that weird Al has a parody. Best day of my life
Dang why is the quality so crap
Wanted to see the faces of Dire Straits seeing this!
Given that Mark Knopfler is in the video, i think they'd approve.
Weird al is shit it's not even funny any one can do this shit
It was only a matter of time before the Ballad of Jed Clampett was combined with Money for Nothing. I mean, so obvious, right?
Всегда думал, что это песня принадлежит Дайер Стрейтс.
I saw on here that there are those on here who don't believe it that Mark Knoffler and Guy Fletcher are on this parody - they are. Weird Al had to agree to that in order to get to do this song. Wasn't completely happy with the arrangement, but he wanted to do the song. https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/humor/the-25-best-%e2%80%9cweird-al%e2%80%9d-yankovic-parody-songs/ss-AAJ7zHt?ocid=chromentp#image=14
a lot of comments about Mark Knopler letting him use this but people don't understand what people like me remember from the 80s..and that was this-
Mr Yankovich jacked shit. Period.😂
Some of the artist he parodied were pissed.
Often he did like early hip hop lore played out. They picked a beat that was popular for them or a beat they liked..that you made and
do a song with it.
this link expounds-
https://youtu.be/k3Vn12rvPfM
did they use mindcraft to make the video?
Ok ok ok, now I gotta go watch the dire straights version so I can get this out of my head.
Bahaha bahaha bahaha haha haha
Is,that will ferrel
Watch out al, rusty cage is coming for your title
Minecraft for nothing
wierd ?
The first verse where Al keeps "losing" the camera and getting surprised where it is and then suddenly grabbing it to hold it still for five seconds always gave me a gut laugh ^O^
"JEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!"- Tom Serve- O impersonating Granny, MST3K The Leech Woman
Movie staaaars
Thats AMIGA graphics....
I before e lol
The original song/video was the ultimate prime of the MTV era.
That lyric "that little Clampett" .. in the original song "Money for Nothing" the lyric is "that little f--ggot". Listen to the uncut version of the song.
Just beautiful... Genius!
Years ago, friends of mine were in a band. Whenever they did a cover of "Money For Nothing", they always did the Weird Al parody in the lyrics. I wonder how many people realized it while dancing to this song.
UHF brought me here.
Getting "Weird Al'ed" was a mark of distinction!
These visual effects are frickin awesome.
Next dimension stuff for that year
"Yeah buddy move away from there!" Is that in reference to Buddy Ebson who played Jed Clampett?
In the original song, there`s a line "Yeah buddy, that's his own hair.", so I think it`s just coincidence.
I LOVE WEIRD AL!
Weird Al rules!!!!
Wierd? there's a typo.
I'm most impressed by how well they recreated the music video
Mark Knopfler is on guitar
Weird Al was way ahead of his time here
Wierd Al Yankovic is the best
Only one surviving cast member of this show.
80s nerd glasses.
Weird AL needs to be inducted to the Rock and Roll hall of fame.
I saw Weird Al walking along Queen St In Toronto with his wife back in the 90's.I love his videos, always funny.
The greatest honour in the music biz is to be satirized by Weird Al.
First time I saw this was in Weird Al's fantastic movie UHF.
Brilliant flick!
This is awesome
This was the very best part of UHF for me. When I saw this for the first time in the theater, people have had to think I was on something (I wasn't) as I was laughing uncontrollably during and then after this scene.
Never knew this existed..funny!
The animation quality is hilarious 😂

LOL @ "That little Clampett."
Fantastic film
My favorite part of the movie when a music video starts with a 3D animation
Who first discovered that the lyrics of the Beverly Hillbillies television show fit the Money For Nothing song like a glove? (I am asking. I do not know the answer.)
I want my MTV!
The is no song which if to spoof, Al will always do best (maybe besides "Gangnam Style"; here is priceless polish parody: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOMZ3dcyHbs
I'll be honest, I would never have thought to put the theme of The Beverly Hillbillies and Money for Nothing together. Amazing.
Ha ha so true
Hill-arious
Terrific!
I uh, I was listening to a Weird Al playlist and this came on. It took my a second and I mistaked the song for Nothing More's "Mr. MTV."
Al, how did your name get misspelled in the description for this video above? :D
Sadly today a smart millionaire leaves the California taxes.
😂😂🎈
Bass better then original
Woooodn't it be nice if you were tighter. Wouldnt have to sleep around at allllll
They see me trolling, berating..tryna catch me writing dirty
Greatest movie of all time!
Damn the last 20 year's went by so fast.
These 3d graphics can now be animated on blender
I hate it
Amazing how far we haven't come, this still has better animation quality than the Sonic the hedgehog film.
this is Al's best video. my favorite.
I didn't know there was a video for this one. The overly long "where's the camera??" gag in the middle of this is the best part, lol
That animation is so advanced it almost crashed Windows Vista lol.
UHF was the best movie ever
hen I was a kid those 3d graphics blew my mind.
If this was made today you bet it would start a meme of replacing song lyrics with the beverly hillbillies theme
Weird AL Yankadick!!!
Jankovic?
