Good cover I don't know when this came out but definitely sounds like weezer during Pinkerton. Pixies version is a masterpiece I don't think any band can recreate what kind of vibe the pixies have

I thought this would have to be amazing, because the original was clearly a huge influence on Rivers Cuomo's vocals. But this is really phoned in and uninspired, as if Rivers Cuomo is trying to avoid sounding like he was influenced by it at all. It's bizarre that they could butcher this so badly when the original could be passed off as a Weezer song to someone who doesn't know the Pixies.

We called our daughter Velouria, we get 99% "That is beautiful, where is it from?" and 1% "Dude, Pixies, haha, your daughter is the shit!"

We usually just say "thanks, she is."

weezer has its moments. One of my favorite songs by them is "if youre wondering if i want you to, i want you to". Its surprisingly great, the lyrics are simple and dumb but it gets the point across. Im not on some music crusade, I get what the punk rock has done and what it gets to keep, but weezer is a Grade A cover band from nirvana to pixies. They get to flow between the cliffs of greats like rivers do.

I respectfully disagree, Weezer has a huge punk influence listen to Paper Face if you don't think so. Also the Pixies were the biggest influence on weezer so it makes the a great cover band.

They totally destroyed the killer pace of the original! What the fuck is this!!! I'm a big fan of both the Pixies and Weezer, but I honestly think this is fucking BRUTAL. Way, way, way too slow. Massive disappointment. Never change the timing of a Pixies song; it has that timing for a purpose, and they knew what the fuck they were doing. I guess this shows that where the Pixies had a big punk influence, Weezer just does not, which makes Weezer a bad band to cover them.
