Weezer - Undone (The Sweater Song) (Demo) Lyrics
I'm me
Me be
Goddamn
I am
I can
Hear me
Know me
If you want to destroy my sweater
Hold this thread as I walk away
Oh no
It go
It gone
Bye-Bye
I think
I sink
And I die
If you want to destroy my sweater
Hold this thread as I walk away (As I walk away!)
Watch me unravel I'll soon be naked (Lyin' on the floor!)
Lying on the floor, I've come undone
If you want to destroy my sweater
Hold this thread as I walk away (As I walk away!)
Watch me unravel I'll soon be naked
Lying on the floor, I've come undone
If you want to destroy my sweater
Hold this thread as I walk away (As I walk away!)
Watch me unravel I'll soon be naked
Lying on the floor, I've come undone
I don't want to destroy your tank-top
Let's be friends and just walk away
Hate to see you lyin' in your skivvies
Lying on the floor, I've come undone

Weezer Undone (The Sweater Song) (Demo) Comments
Really like the one chord at the start instead of the drum intro, wonder why they changed it
0:00 serve the servents nirvana
When ur too scared to sing infront of people
Where's Fred
I prefer this to the studio version, wouldn't say that about the other demos
pat's snare tone aint it chief
This is so great
Rivers when the band keeps going and he's done: Okay........OKAY!!!!!!!
I've honestly been listening to this demo since 2011. It reminds me of my first job. Absolutely love it, I think it's way better than the album version. I just want to say, thank you so much for uploading this. It's meant so much to me for so long.
greatest demo ever
A beautiful mess, weezer's prime
Pretty cool. These sound a bit more like Pinkerton. More raw, less polished. I think the originals are great and wouldn’t change them, but this is really cool to hear and I like it. It’s ok to like both people, you don’t have to chose a team.
Demos are always interesting to hear. Sometimes they're great and some other times they sound like a crap band that will never leave their parents' garage. I like some of Weezer's demos but I could do without this one.
"You can't hate yourself and like Weezer. Well, except for pinkerton. You can hate yourself and like pinkerton."
the beggining is literally serve the servants
suciedad serve the servants hadn’t been released yet when this was recorded though
The beginning reminds me of Ain’t Got Nobody
lol its like they recorded the instrumental and wanted to finish the song that same night so they sang really quietly trying not to wake the parents
😂😂
cannot unhear.
Much darker than studio version
the solo and before is better than the album but album's version ending is better
Okay......OKAAAAYY!
I like the solo better in the demo than the final mix
i know! i can't believe they chose to go with the other solo!
I don't! This sounds like some amateur garage band.
So.. this is actually Weezer's first recorded song?!
where did you hear that? lol
@R A T C H E T This was recorded sometime in November 1992. Only 275 demo tapes were released to the public
The guitar mix in this demo sounds better than the version in the album.
That moment about 1:16 where Pat leaves the first snare out of the measure at the 2, and comes back in at the 4, that is like some tasty shit that he deserves major dynamic cred for
Pat Wilson didn't record the demo, during this period they had different members, the only one that's still around from this recording is Rivers.
Luke B Nope, pats been around since the beginning
st. anger snare
Cyan Blue plus Sanatarium riff :P
MoltenSword - The Space Ace Funny running into you here, Molten.
I bleed bassline
nah st anger was after this
it works better on this track than the other demos
where did you find these?
Rob Mentality kitchen tapes
These are different than the Kitchen Demos. This has Brian in them, I think. Kitchen didn't have Brian.
These don't have Brian in them. Even the final, official blue album doesn't have Brian playing guitar on it, he only does some backing vocals on the blue album. But yeah, this demo came out after the kitchen tape demos.
It's either Kitchen Tapes or B sides from the 10th anniversary rerelease
FUNKe pls
+Passa Chan Saya-Chan? :v
I didn't know darth vader was in weezer
I've realized Weezer had the capacity to be a really dark band sometimes.
Also cause the majority of their songs are about being lonely and going insane
@EJT0002 Pinkerton is a borderline emo album though...?
@EJT0002 go look at the lyrics to the songs off of Pinkerton and tell me that they are not borderline emo
JayK20 I don’t think he was saying that it’s Not emo we was just calling out the overuse of the word?
I'm going to be singing Ode to Joy whenever I hear this song now.
I hate you...
@Cryptic Wrath who me?
I'm not sure if you are Brianna S, but now every time I hear this song I hear Ode to Joy.
Ode to grunge❗️
Pretty awesome
that end..
Love Darth Vader at 1:22
I don't hear it lol
ThatGuy55 yeah
Nvm😂
I hear Obi Wan saying "You'll never find a more wretched hive"
The demos have a much darker grunge blues feel to em. Way better than actual releases
this was recorded in 92
psiplelepa Rivers is the self-proclaimed "#1 Nirvana fan"
It sounds way too 90s-ish, even though this has way more angst I think the original release has a more original approach
psiplelepa
Hipster
This one is better yeah. Captures the angst and paranoia better
Your're an idiot.
RATMAN775 :ok_hand:
"Your're"
Weezer!! \m/
I didn't I could love this song any more... Wow, just wow.
Agreed, ode to joy is fucking perfect
Did I hear a porky the pig laugh???
I think the demos are as good or better than the studio versions, which is saying a lot because the album is ridiculously perfect.

This depressing mess it better? Its great on its own but it can’t stand up to the happy rock that the blue album was. Which was desperately needed after years of grunge
TheSexelentMedic the sweater song is a depressing song either way
This version rules!!
@63chicago6 epic..
so damn raw i could taste it!
they should keep the ending
@AwfulWalrus beethoven
i like the random scary voice in the backround in the beginning
@flaperise seriously?
@Hollywood7779 what?
@Hollywood7779 ....idiot.
omg this version is fucking sick!!! im glad i could hear it, thanks!
@hk47ray yeah...wow, its crazy how much better these demos are...the album is great, obviously, but this definetely has a more "live vibe" to it...Rivers' vocals also sound a lot more bright. love it.
Nirvanablue89
Hipster piece of shit
this version is soooooo much better than the album version, and i love the album version so thats saying something
I glad this wasn't made, sounds too much like something off Raditude..
OMG... this beats the Album's version Ass
Romel Lherisson
Hipster piece of shit
You listen to rap.
Ash M Shut up
Blue Album and Pinkerton were the best.
I like the Ode to Joy segment at the end.
They couldn't get all the licensing for all the soundbites. That's why there's a dialogue in the album version.
I like the demo versions of this song even more than the album version. The other demo version ive heard is from the Deluxe edition i think, and its more similar to the album version but its even better.
I'm surprised people are so critical of this demo...I think it's better than the album version...more energy, cool samples, the solo kicks ass, the playing sounds more inspired, just more of an overall passion/raw vibe. True, it lacks studio polish, but in some ways the studio "magic" ruined the song.
Yeah, it is.
It's called:
Undone (The Sweater Song)
3:20 is boss
kinda gives all musicians hope what magic producers can do to what seems like crap.
Bill Hicks
"Musicians" don't need magic producers
demos are like scribbles on a notepad... seeds of ideas that grow into bigger things. what's up with you people expecting polished and pressed versions?
awesome solo!!
good song, its very easy in guitar
