@fanofflanEvery single song Weezer made during the Sharp era was concentrated pop fire. The Rentals are concentrated pop fire. _Green_ through present Weezer are bland manufactured, and soulless. But it is a bit of an oversimplification to put it all on that. Rivers also went insane after Pinkerton was savaged by critics and started seeing music as an equation to solve rather than an art.
@KlooKloo I maladroit is my second or third favorite to blue and Pinkerton but it was the record that was out when I first heard them, I tolerated make believe but I haven't even tried with the others
