Waylon Jennings - Rings Of Gold Lyrics
I remember when you said
With this ring I Thee wed
Now you've gone betrayed my trust
Rings of gold have turned to rust.
Love that's dead can't live again
Knowing there's no hope for us
Turns these rings of gold to rust.
Love before was clean and pure
Never more can I be sure
You will not betray my trust
Rings of gold have turned to rust.
Plans we made just yesterday
Now they've crumbled into dust
Rings of gold have turned to rust.
Rings of gold have turned to rust...

Waylon Jennings Rings Of Gold Comments
Very beautiful amazing voices love the song beautiful
Annniita Carter with hank snow great
Anita had a voice that could make you melt as soon as you heard it.
June Carter & Johnny cash must of also been in the recording session room when these 2 singers Waylon & Anita recorded these songs, i'm sure tears flowed , due to the realistic sad ending emotion of the songs, but these songs capture personal history. A few yrs earlier Waylons hit "Anita Stop crying' was for her. and afterward 'loving him was easier' and 'loving her was easier' were those 2 communicating to each other in song.
I wondered if mike pender searchers did this song
Real Music !
Told you so, great duet, Jessie can't hold a candle to anita
Their voices are so awesome and this is a beautiful song
Absolutely beautiful
I love Waylon and his great voice , and you can hear probably the best female vocalist that harmonizes so sweetly with that pure voice.the, Appalachan Angel Anita!
nice duet, It's a shame they didn't do more duets.
Check" Mockingbird Hill" with Hank Snow and Anita Carter, Her voice is becoming addicting, I have been checking out all of her stuff and it brought me here,"Blue Doll" "As the Sparrow Goes" Making Believe". She definitely is easy on the eyes as well..
Back in my DJ days in 1968, one of my biggest thrills came when Waylon approached me backstage at a concert and asked if there was a coffee shop near the theater. When I showed him, he invited me to join him. As we walked out the door, Tex Ritter asked if he could join us. So there I was in a booth with Waylon & Tex. Both in the C&W HOF, and both easy to be around. That memory becomes more precious to me as the years go by.
Never heard this song until I saw this vid on youtube. Ironic that a song so jazzy (one can easily visualize a full dance floor moving to it at a wedding reception) is actually about marital infidelity. Really incongruous, but I can't stop listening to it. Thanks so much for posting it.
When are they going to make a life story movie of Waylon.
One of my top 5 favorite singers.....pure country!!
What a song and what a duet. Wonderfull.
We were living in California at the time and Waylon sang at the Palamino club one night. We went of course. That's when he was young and had short hair all combed back. The next time we saw him was in Arizona at a club and he had the signature long hair and cowboy hat. My husband went up and got him to sign his album "Just to satisfy you". He was such a gentleman and I was just star struck and couldn't speak - just stupidly stared at his hands. ??
Wish we still had artist, like yesteryear. Thank You
beautiful thanks :gabor
Beautiful - Anita's sweet voice is such a joy to hear. Waylon blends in well.
absolute ''top of the country duets list'' in my book a super blend of ''quality artists'' the harmony's of old are ''pure gold in this classic track'' many thanks..wayne.....
Hadn't listened to much Waylon before, but was familiar with Anita's sublime singing voice - browsing you tube tonight I thought I'd give this one an airing and I'm so glad! Did these two duet very often? They compliment one anothers voices just perfectly....
Lovely song !!!!!
the voices of the century!
what a great duett!!
absolut fantastic!!!
Hi to all you Anita carter and Waylon Jennings fans- I just came across a fantastic CD compilation of Anita Carter songs ( it's called "SONGBIRD" ) available on Amazon- There are a few Waylon and Anita duets on it and some of the other songs are great too!- It showcases Anita's talents as a forgotten country singer, when she was always billed as "folksy" -Highly recommended- I'm wearing it out ! at the moment!
This was my brothers favorite...he loved Waylon and Anita...they made music...not noise...AWESOM DUET wish sangn was still this great.
masterpiece
Can 2053... I agree 100% How fast time flys away!
You are so right Teddie. Thanks again for allowing us a precious moment in time when music gave us something to smile about, family reunion laughs of days gone by and our favourite country performers on stage and our turntables. Those were the days!!!! Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about those golden days of country music.
Thanks Teddie for allowing those of us who grew up listening these classic country pieces, the music that touched our hearts, music we could relate to and sing alone or with the accompaniment of friends and family. Those were the days...where have they disappeared to.
I have always loved early Waylon and Anita Carter singing together. Love this song and several others. Do you also have "No One's Gonna Miss Me"? Another great song.
WOW!!!...Two Awesome voices!!
Thank You Eddie;-)
Their voices sure do compliment each other! Such harmony...and a good match for him. So glad you added this one along with one of your fine videos!
