Waylon Jennings - Memories Of You And I Lyrics

I thought to leave your bed
For the street was as simple as saying goodbye
I couldn't see how blind a man can be
Lord, how quickly life can fly.

As the lines in my face grow deeper
And the well of my soul runs dry
I find that I drink more and more
From the memories of you and I.

The taste of fame is fire to me no more
The tension and hunger are gone
All I have left are money in the game
I'm a prisoner too low I'm on.

As the lines in my face grow deeper
And the well of my soul runs dry
I find that I drink more and more
From the memories of you and I.

We mourn the loss of these great artists. I love Waylon. His voice is so real, pure, almost haunting. He and a few others of his and my generation could reveal in their music their life experience influences that made him Waylon. We won't see them again. Todays bunch are a people of little life hardships etc. That is the difference. They can't be Waylon or Johnny, or George. Can't do it. Thank God for their having been here..

  31. M.... M....

I love this one. That's truly his sound. Not long enough.

There are very few singers that can take any song, any genre and sing it as well or most of the time better than the person who sung it origionally. But Waylon can, he's proved it many many times. We'll never see anyone better than he was.

  38. p.... ....

I just recently got turned on to Waylon's music, knowing of him but never really listened to him. At this time in my life I find that I can relate to his songs, like this and so many others. He had it all... A unique sound in his music, guitar and vocals... And an amazing ability that made you really feel his music. I also envy his love shared with Jessi, I'm sure his greatest treasure of all in life. Waylon's become one of my favorite artist of all time, I'd say probably my favorite in the country genre.

Jessi - I have subscribed in such a way that I receive email each and every upload you make. MOSTLY, I am driving and I have set up a routine that polls the notifications and plays the video automatically. Obviously, I can't WATCH them, but I do listen to each and EVERY one - I just normally cannot make a comment.

I want to thank you sooo much for all of these and tell you just how much this old bloke appreciates them.

EVERY one has been a wealth of enjoyment for me!

    Kindest regards
