Waylon Jennings - Lonely Weekends Lyrics

Well, I make it alright
From Monday morning till Friday night
Oh, those lonely weekends
Since you left me
I'm as lonely as I can be
Oh, those lonely weekends.

Said you'd be true to me
You said our love's never gonna die
Said you'd be true to me
But baby you didn't even try.

I'll make it alright
From Monday morning till Friday night
Oh, those lonely weekends.

[Instrumental]

You said you'd be true to me
You said our love's never gonna die
Said you'd be true to me
But baby you didn't even try.

I'll make it alright
From Monday morning till Friday night
Oh, those lonely weekends.

Oh, those lonely weekends.
Oh, those lonely weekends...

Waylon's version is the best, the greatest artist. He will always be my number ONE, nobody can beat him in singing looks, charisma, husband, father.Wish he was still with us to entertain us. Miss you Waylon! RIP!

shut up you gerd derm hippay!

This was the Waylon TV appearance on the Dean Martin Show or the summer replacement show lip syncing this song that hooked me on Waylon. They were just a scruffy looking bunch of skinny cowboys with a wah wah peddle. I think it was Wayne Moss who actually did the picking on the record.

@Harmonator1000 I have to disagree. Nothing against Charlie Rich but I've always favored the Waylon version.

My Dad had this album and I probably wore the grooves out on this song. This is quite possibly the first song that made me appreciate fine guitar playing.

I gotta go with Charlie, too, but this is a great version, too. Can't go wrong with either Charlie or Waylon, tho. By the way, what's with the comment about Waylon having a bigger brain than Charlie?!? LOL, thanks for posting this, a lot of people have never heard this version. I miss both of these guys.
