Washington, Dinah - Dream Lyrics
Get in touch with that sundown fellow
As he tiptoes across the sand
He's got a million kinds of stardust
Pick your favorite brand, and
Dream, that's the thing to do
Just watch the smoke rings rise in the air
You'll find your share of memories there
So dream when the day is through
Dream, and they might come true
Things never are as bad as they seem
So dream, dream, dream
Dream, when the day is through
Things never are as bad as they seem
So dream, dream, dream, dream
So dream, dream, dream

I'm doing the same this day on what would have been my mom's 79th Birthday. It was one of my Mom's absolute favorite singers and she used to sing her songs around the house. Listening to Dinah lets me actually remember my mother's voice.
Dinah is really dream. When I listen to her voice I alwajs get excited
I see your one "dislike" and raise you one "like".....HA!
This was my Mother's favorite artist and one of her favorite songs. Paying homage to my mom today on what would have been her 84th birthday. Love you Cush:)
thanks for posting! I think that's my favourite version of this song.
@SogniAzzurri Not really sure I answered, but you might also enjoy Marion Montgonery, she has a jazz inflected style. She died in London a few years back, I liked her early stuff best.
@2grouchy1 Just happened to think you might also like Marion Montgomery, she is a bit different than Dinah but she is Jazz Inflected
She , Ella and Sarah were all in a class all their own, I don't cry much but I was close when these three left us.
@almarperez She left us far too soon, but this is when I really appreciate Thomas Alva Edison, without the recording industry we would never have heard her. Night Train Lane probably didn't like it either.
Can someone please tell me what year she made this song? My grandfather gave me the 78 vinyl record with this song (and " I Don't Hurt Anymore") on it, but I have NO history behind these 2 songs...PLEASE help!
1954. Both were recorded with Hal Mooney and his Orchestra.
This is classic Dinah, she also does a bang up version of "I don't hurt any more" I never heard anything by Dinah that I didn' like
