Warwick, Dionne - In Between The Heartaches Lyrics

In between the heartaches
you hold me here in your arms
and say you love me.
In between the heartaches
the way you kiss I can tell
you're thinking of me.

I know you love me.
And I that makes up
for all of the heartaches
and the sadness
and the tears.

Everyone keeps asking me
Why I stay with you
the way you hurt me.
They can see
how many times
I'm alone and blue
when you desert me.

You and come and go
without a letter.
And they all say
that I should get up and go.
They don't know.
They don't know that...

In between the heartaches
you hold me here in your arms
and say you love me.
In between the heartaches
the way you kiss I can tell
you thinking of me.

I know you love me.
And that makes up
for all the heartaches
and the sadness
and the tears.

They don't ever see us
In between the heartaches...

Phenomenal: Her vocal abilities were extraordinarily unique! Puts one in a nice safe place.

Something so heartbreaking can sound so beautiful. This is one if my favorites of sim many by Miss Warwick

  3. J.... A....

Dionne is well capable of interpreting the complex melodies of Bachrach.

Dionne Warwick delivers an impeccable performance with this song. I give this song a like. However, there is one question that has been on my mind lately. I notice that a lot of her songs here on YouTube have the word "Ichiban" in parenthesis next to their song titles. Can anyone tell me why that word "Ichiban" appears next to some of her song titles here on YouTube? I researched it online, and it says that "Ichiban" is Japanese for "Number 1." However, I still wonder if the word means something on top of that.

    C.... ....

ICHIBAN WAS THE NAME OF THE LABEL WHO RELEASED A CD OF SOME OF LADY DIONNES ALBUM TRACKS SOME YEARS AGO. THEY ARE NO LONGER IN EXISTANCE.

    Thank you.

A great song and unfortunately overlooked.

Who are the classless fools that gave this beautiful and classy rendition a thumbs down? Some people have absolutely no good taste for good music. Nor do these dead ear losers know truly phenomenal vocalizing when they hear it. Very Sad.

Guess they don’t know good music when they Herat it,lol

    B.... C....

    Hear it,lol.

  8. I.... ....

    Exquisite !

  9. J.... A....

THIS ALBUM - I LOVE THIS - one of my FAVORITES!

  10. S.... W....

Magical. More than 50 years later, still magical!! This inspired arrangement, the clever use of guitar, harp, tympani, piano and Miss Warwick's supple, lilting soprano weaving its way through the melody. It's all truly magical.

I first heard this on an old vinyl record and was immediately sold. Yes, it has a wonderfully languid movement, all of those interwoven musical components coming together as they only can in the Bacharach-David-Warwick way. // The lyrics are pretty sad -- someone wholly dependent on another's unsteady affections. A surefire formula for lots of emotional pain.

  11. D.... M....

Dionne has a very timeless and angelic voice.

  12. C.... B....

    Such a tune of sincerity
