Dionne Warwick is my all time favorite female recording artist, bar none! Followed by Barbra Streisand.
That said, this version, however, does not come close to the masterful rendition of the late diva Ms. Phyllis Hyman.
Second only to the original, definitive Stylistics version.

Yes this is a nice  female take on this iconic  song.  For my money, nothing beats Queen Latifah's acappella   version  from several years  back.

I don't think that's how it went. If I remember correctly the Stylistics started out with a few of her songs on their album such as Never Get to Heaven.. Most likely she paid them back the favor by doing a few of their songs! The songwriters for the Stylistics and many other Philly soul groups was Thom Bell and Linda Creed. So no, those songs were not written for Dionne but for the Stylistics ...
