Warren Zevon - Sentimental Hygiene Lyrics
Every day I get up in the morning and go to work
And do my job-whatever
I need some
Sentimental Hygiene
Everybody's at war these days
I need some Sentimental hygiene
Everybody's had to hurt about it
No one wants to live without it
It's so hard to find it
Sentimental hygiene
Every night I come home exhausted
From trying to get along
I need some
Some nights I drive my car
Up and down the boulevard
It's so hard to find it
Sentimental hygiene
Everybody's had to hurt about it
No one wants to live without it
It's so hard to find it
Sentimental hygiene
Some nights I drive my car
Up and down the boulevard
It's so hard to find it
Sentimental hygiene
Sentimental hygiene
I need some Sentimental hygiene

Warren Zevon Sentimental Hygiene Comments
"Everybody's signing up for the right to be wrong..."
Young's grungy guitar solo sounds surreal against the slick 80's production.
Herein, ironically, may be Neil's best solos ever.
neil and warren really jam together warrens rythem guitar is super clean even, the notes start off kinda relaxed but really rock!
one of my favorites of all time
Too bad this great album is marred by the 80's production, triggered drums, cheesy synthesizers, yuk, but hey it's still Warren Zevon.
You must be one of those fucks that like shit..."unplugged"
a Master, Man if he were alive these days....
Everyone should read "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead"!
Great book!
I've got it. I was on the primary Zevon newsgroup or whatever it was, when he got ill and passed: one of the guys on the list made a huge box set of all Zevon clips, live footage, and all sorts of things, I still have mine somewhere here, it's like eight DVDRs of stuff. I hope he eventually puts most of it on YouTube, though not sure how much he could legally post. That was some labor of love.
miss you Warren !
PLEASE WHO CAN EXPLAINE TO ME THOOSE 3 DISLIKE
Simple. Morons w/ shite taste in music. They do exist.
I wash my brain with alcohol almost every night
The 2 people who 👎to each there own, I like this song and 2018 awaits me. That's good enough for me.
this brings backs the days... so young so far away.....
Zevon... Excellent...
I only know of this song thanks to MST3K
Warren Zevon, Neil Young, Mike Mills, Bill Berry
..actually Jorge Calderon on bass guitar on THIS track.. Bill Berry's drumming is EXCELLENT and Neil's guitar work is magnificent.. simultaneously ragged AND mature.. + knowing Neil's ethos it's very likely a single (+1st ) take.. i got this record in the vinyl cutout bin in 1988 .. a VERY well spent $2.99.
brilliant. as he always was............... thanks for this
The first time I heard this on the radio I recognized Neil Young's guitar work...
Bobby blowin the blues,
Warren Zevon, Neil Young, and REM's instrumental section - can't get any better than this. Released in 1987 - this is my favorite Zevon track and has been since hearing it for the first time that year.
You can't hardly beat my rides here and detox mansion
You still own the vinyl LP from that day lad? that'd be epic.
Too bad no one else was home when I turned this up to Eleven and then pulled the knobs off....
@***** That's really excellent... I took philosophy back in college (a LONG time ago), so I studied logic... I used to want to be a Vulcan when I grew up...
kewl keep it up!
+AntiHoplophobia me too I'm a Stone cold trekker
+Warrensdeciple love your handle !! Warren the Man!
sometimes I drive my car....
Warren Zevon and Neil Young, couldn't get any better....
Damn that's why the lead riff is so fucking good on this tune, ha , ha awesome soup.
"Perfect", the man said. Neil and Warren. Great, great song.
@09nob I thought it sounded like Neil's playing!
Warren Zevon. American treasure. He left us 12 years ago next month. Requiescat en pace.
I still grieve every time I hear him.
great track and I love Neil Youngs electric guitar style
Love this record!
LONDON 89, AWESOME
cool comment about the funeral. after all , what is a funeral but..sentimental hygiene? physically for the deceased, psychically for the living. also not a bad time to give and get some, sometimes.
i saw this tour at the tower in Philly PA. STILL HAVE THE T _SHIRT Great night Better than the Envoy ? i don't know i did them both MTV was a pain in the ass that night
Rip WARREN I'm Going To "Bad luck streak in dancing School'"
Cannot believe it's nearly 10yrs since our hero shuffled of this mortal coil, damn I miss him.
Crystal Zevon wrote a bio on Warren: "The Dirty Life & Times of Warren Zevon" -
excellent book; long, well-written story about him; library stystem carries it as well.
He's jammin' on the Other Side - there was something totally charismatic about him.
While reading a Rolling Stone magazine in 1976, they did a review of his album,'Warren Zevon'. I liked the review, picked up the album and immediately became a fan. His words and musical phrasing just hit the spot. I saw him twice in Atlanta, solo and with band. He's at the top of my list of favorites. Long live Zevon.
You got it
Thanks for the agreement bassmaster1953. Truth can't be denied. In the
short time Warren lived among us, he sure put out a heap of ACE songs.
So true
Why is it that the more insane Neil Young gets, the calmer I feel?
Nothing nice about it.
I like this version better than the "live", even though I haven't listened to the live version yet.
Ha! Gotta ferret out the Time.
This is basically REM minus Stipe plus Zevon and Young.
Correct.
The more I hear this, the more I like it. Although, Warren Zevon is very easy to become
addicted to. So diverse, so genius, so.......damn sad he isn't with us anymore. Thank
God we have his legacy left, but still we all miss him so. xx oo
Why not appropriate at your funeral? Everyone has their choice for that, altho as for myself, I'm gonna skip all the expensive funeral trappings, and just choose "crash and burn." lol
@rockinroller7 He has a lot of respect for Pearl Jam so it is possible he was just being humble. As most of of know he does do what he feels. So dunno!?
Have you checked out Neil's BTO stuff?
LOL who has the time or energy to investigate all that we are exposed to these days? Not moi!!!
Take care..
@rockinroller7 Thanks for turning me onto this Rock. It's always interesting to hear Neil playing lead in different places and in different spaces. Kinda goes side by side with your Neil *song* time line thing. Maybe a fun exercise to try and guess at what point in his career he played a certain solo. He jams with so many different people/bands.
Have a good one. ~cg
Neil Young on guitar..very nice
Please see my amateurish effort. W.Z. forever!!
