Warrant - Undertow Lyrics
You speak from both sides of your mouth
I tried to work it out
You hated me all along
I tried to get along
It's verbal therapy
I don't need words to fight with you
Just my left and civil right with you
[BRIDGE]
Make up your mind
Stop wasting my time
[CHORUS]
Then the storm broke
Then the flood came
Made the river swell
Then the damn broke
I just let it go
I was pulled down
By the undertow

Warrant Undertow Comments
yes one of warrants best and Janis vocals are stellar
man, could they have copied Alice in Chains more with this track...jeeeez
don't sound damn thing like alice in chains ,,better lol
You might want to check your years on this album was released. They were selling out arenas when Alice in chains were toddlers.
Janie Lane = Musical Genius
This song is one of my favourite songs of all time. When warrant went grungier it worked. One of the few bands to be able to convincingly pull it off at the time.
Hell yeah, it totally worked! Just goes to show how talented and versatile Jani was as a songwriter. His voice also perfectly worked for this type of grungier music. The man could do it all!
it's Rick and James made that album rocks Janie's just a genius
+david fitz Were Rick and James not happy in Warrant? Why were they only around for such a short time?
I was Ricks guitar tech in James's drum tech during that tour
+david fitz Really? That's fucking awesome! So I guess you met Jani quite often??
david fitz-gibbon?
David, when did James leave? I saw them at The Ritz in Roseville, MI in April of 1995, and can't find any video footage with him in it.
I may have seen you picking up his cymbal stands after he double fisted the cymbal and it fell down! Haha!
I also remember seeing huge divots in the tom heads because he was beating the shit out of them.
I've seen more like 20-something times but I remember this one specifically because I got to see them in a small venue and it was great even had beers with the guys after the show.
Enjoyed reading all the positive comments here, as I too, love this album. They survived the decline of glam, and still made music that appealed to their original fans. Great stuff.
One of the most underrated bands of all time they catch a lot of flat because of cherry pie which is was more there a record labels fault than theirs. They were just using the formula that worked for that period of time to make money I get it, they're still my favorite rock band.
It sounds like a lost Alice in Chains song, and I mean that in the best way possible.
yes I agree great album ,every song fantastic , Jani Lane wrote almost all of the lyrics he had a little help on a couple songs, he was a great song writer , strong and beautiful powerful voice, my brothers taught me all about music , my brother Tim also died from alcohol and mother, i just wont touch it any more i love my brother David an I love you my brother Steve Happy BirthDay
jani wrote all lyrics on warrant albums and this one to,,credits all lyrics say jani lane lol
Yeah I liked this album , also, They came to my town and did a benfit show and hung out for a day or 2 right as this album came out so it was cool meeting and hangin out with them.
They played at a small venue on this tour also in Birmingham AL and it was great just see him at a smaller show where I can sit around and have some beers with the guys afterwards
