No, embracing christianity simply made it easy for their culture to be adapted to that of the rest of europe, ie) they became "civilized" (that's up for debate but you get my point, i hope) regardless of my personal views on christianity and religion in general, I was simply saying that vikings ceased to exist once they adopted christianity because A) vikings were pagans, no more pagans? no more vikings. B) christians were not supposed to raid and murder each other for loot, so another reason no more vikings, because all their neighbors were christian as well and C) their culture became less war and clan oriented, and more trade and kingdom oriented much like the rest of europe at the time.

"viking" is not an ethnic group, in the same way a "soldier" is not an ethnic group. Being a viking was an occupation, not your race.
