Wardruna - Ein Sat Hon Uti Lyrics
[Voluspá stanza 27-28]
Veit hon Heimdallar
hljóð um fólgit
undir heiðvönum
á sér hon ausask
aurgum forsi
af veði Valföðrs.
Vituð ér enn eða hvat?
Ein sat hon úti,
þá er inn aldni kom
yggjungr ása
ok í augu leit.
Hvers fregnið mik?
Alt veit ek, Óðinn,
hvar þú auga falt,
í inum mœra
Mímis brunni.
Drekkr mjöð Mímir
morgin hverjan
af veði Valföðrs.
Vituð ér enn eða hvat?
[English translation:]
She knows that Heimdall's hearing is hidden
Under the bright-grown, sacred tree;
She sees, flowing down, the loam-filled flood
From Father of the Slain's pledge – do you want
To know more: and what?
Alone she sat outside, when the old man came
The Terrible One of the Æsir and he looked in
Her eyes:
'Why do you question me? Why do you test me?
I know all about it, Odin, where you hid your eye
In Mimir's famous well.'
Mimir drinks mead every morning
From Father of the Slain's pledge – do you want
To know more: and what?

Konuş reis
Sonunda türk buldum
This song is based on the Voluspa, which (although it is indeed a song from the pre Christian Norse tradition) was put into writing by Snorri Sturlusson (a Christian) and there is a fine translation of it by JRR Tolkien (most definitely a Christian). In fact pretty much everything that survives of the myths, poetry and history of both the Norse and of the Classical Greek and Roman period exists to this day because it was preserved by Christians, and were it not for the widespread literacy that came about due to the Renaissance and the Protestant Reformation most of us would probably not be able to read or learn from what was preserved any way.
Thank God for christians (get it?), if if wasn't for them we would know NOTHING about how these ancient cultures were before they were destroyed by... oh, wait... For real though, you are a fucking idiot man, I am speechless.
Actually that is not quite true. Classical learning was nearly obliterated in the West by Christians, and it all came back into Europe through the Italian connections that were developed when the Byzantine Empire collapsed. It was there that Greek and Roman texts were preserved. And not all Byzantine scholars were Christian. George Gemistos, for example, who was lecturing in Florence in the 15th c. was a Pagan, and it was he who inspired the Florentine Academy where Ficino began to translate Greeks texts unto Latin. Old Norse comes through a different channel of course.
I'm not going to call anyone an idiot here, but instead of virtue-signaling pagan innocence amidst evil Christian persecution, try actually reading the classical literature. Did you know that classical history and literature was one of the main influences in the Germanic kings converting? Yes indeed, the Christian monks were very keen on sharing this material that they (monks) preserved in their monasteries during and after the collapse of the Roman world.
@no elo well said !
It turns, just like cycles of paganisms.
Please put the remaining tracks up from this album, would be very much appreciated <3
Leftists have no place in traditionalism. Stay in your degenerate cities.
I believe this song is about a part of the Voluspa, when Odin comes to a Seer's grave, resurrecting her to ask her questions about his own fate. She tells him everything he needs to know about his future, but also, teasingly, asks Odin, "Do you want to know more, and what?".
Yes Stanza 27 and 28 :-)
