Walsh, Joe - Things Lyrics

I like to take things one step at a time
One foot in front of the other
I like to think things will all work out fine
And follow along behind those
One act play-things can give you a thrill
Guess it depends on the actor
Dreams can come true, but some things never will
As a matter of fact, those things are driving me crazy
Those things are keeping me sane
I like to take things and make a design
Keep a low profile. Oh and
I like to take things and put them to rhyme
Like those things that are confusing
And the things that seem so clear
And the things that seem so far away
And yet they seem so near
There are some things I have lost
And a few things I have found
Well it's so hard to keep track of things
There's so many around
There's so many around
And there's things we have to look for
And a few we never find
And we all have things in common
You got your thing, I've got mine
And some things they just happen
And some things you can plan
And some of those things you just can't help
But some of them you can
Oh, some of them you can

As a matter of fact, those things
Are driving me crazy
Those things are keeping me sane
Some things turn out all wrong
And some things turn out all right
Some things don't turn out at all
But then again they might
There are things that come too soon
And some things that come too late
It's the best thing to come too early
So you have some time to wait
Oh, have some time to wait
Well it's hard to talk with words
There's some things you just can't say
And it's best to leave some things alone
In case they go away
You can share some things with friends
There's some things we've all been thru'
Well it's things like this and things like that
And how are things with you?
Oh, how do you do?
You can hang things on your wall
You can leave your things around
You can mark some things 2001, and put them in the ground
And maybe later on, they will dig them up some day
And ooh and ahh, and 'how 'bout that?'
Who knows the things they'll say

awh f. just took the dog shit out.....stinks....keeping it clean and dry

  6. a.... j....

Sometimes it's all about diversion. Then the wrong writes and becomes the early wait for Stuff that those things like. Speciality feels good on me too but the eyes Smiler is just lucky that way.

Walsh was just "cool quirky" It's really sad to know that one of the origanal Eagles, such a great musician, once trapped by the cult AA and it's two-hatting "chemical demand-ency industry" quack cohorts, would have those amazingly creative wings clipped, ending his career. never to soar agiain! Re-arrange the letters in 'sober living" and you get "boring lives" For any thinking of joining AA or being forced into treatment. Here is everything you will need to know about AA, it's LIES and THE LIARS THAT TELL THEM!!! here.> https://www.orange-papers.info/

    L.... B....

If being sober means being able to tell who the original Eagles were, maybe there is something to be said for it.

    L.... B....

Was it no because he lost his little un that made him turn to the drink it wud wreck anybody losing a 3 year old daughter

he was supposed to do a concert here in Milwaukee back in the 90's one time, but he was drunk the show was canceled.

    S.... M....

    he was so drunk

    S.... M....

It's a sad but true fact that those among us with the most brilliant minds seem to have a susceptibility to alcohol. I think it's because for those with true sensitivity and brilliance the numbness that alcohol brings is a relief from our own self.

    S.... M....

But now he is sober and even more awesome. I saw him in Milwaukee a ton of times and he was awesome!

  10. S.... M....

used to have this on cassette.cant even find this on cd

    S.... M....

I still have the cd :)

  11. M.... S....

If he took the phone book and put lyrics to it, Joe would still sell a million copies!

  12. a.... ....

Joe arranges words and sound the way Michaelangelo arranged angels and clouds. Inside silence, Joe hears symphonies and melodies. God I love him.

    a.... ....

Unfortunatley he got trapped in AA and if you take the words "sober living" and re-arrange the letters you get "boring lives"

    a.... ....

    Priceless!

  13. J.... V....

    one act play things

  17. F.... W....

Like the words, nice work Mr Walsh.

  18. o.... ....

Speed 1.25 and the song is just perfect !!!

    o.... ....

@otaqgames This sounded like sacrilege when I read your comment, but I tried 1.25 and it actually sounds closer to the way I remember it when I got the album years ago. Nice job!

    o.... ....

    @Michael Scott ...drugs...maybe? ;)

    o.... ....

+Mutt1961 You must have been doing a lot of cocaine back then.

    o.... ....

Homey is correct: is much better at 1.25. Wish i could turn down just a tick, 'cause now the voice is a bit strange..., but is easier to do chores if things are jammin'!

    o.... ....

Tea for One by Led Zeppelin is good at 1.25 or even 1.5 as well.

One of my favourite songs, Joe can do no wrong. What drives me crazy is the spell checker!!! In England, we spell favourite with a "U" & many other words!!!
