Wall, Colter - Codeine Dream Lyrics
Prayin' on the north wind
Lead me to my door
Thumbing through my green backs
Swearin' I made more
Some cruel nightly cycle
I don't cry for you
Anymore
Many a dark hour
I look up to the sky
Many unkind thoughts are laid
On my hazy eyes
Sometimes I get to thinkin'
Why wait around to die
I don't think of you
Every day it seems
My whole damn life's just a codeine dream
I don't dream of you
Anymore
The sun is gone away now
Green grass turns to brown
Every December it gets a little bit harder
To lay that bottle down
It's more than just the weather
That plagues this prairie town
I won't be seeing you
When I come 'round
Every day it seems
My whole damn life's just a codeine dream
I don't dream of you
Anymore

Wall, Colter Codeine Dream Comments
If this man don’t touch your soul, you don’t have one, honey! Get ‘em, Colter!
I take 20 a day and can't stop.
Careful man, 20 turns to a hundred, one more hit turns to one more week, and with each weekend you forget any of it had ever happened, years go by and miraculously your still alive, but your friends are gone and your family has left you behind, and that's if you're lucky.
Sounds like a great modern version of Cocaine by Dave Van Ronk
Under rated and amazing
Nobody I talk to has heard of him but I tell everyone. He's gonna be big
Thomas Francis he’s on tour now, I’ll be seeing him in Texas in July
I lost my soulmate to cocaine which led his depression. He showed me your song and the part where you sing "every decemeber gets harder" well I lost him December 18th, 2018. He was battling demons I had no idea about and we've been together for almost 12 years. We have two wonderful children and one on the way (he didn't know). Drugs will ruin lives..... props to anyone who has the strength to overcome their addictions and prayers to those who are still fighting. You are loved and if you left you'd hurt your families.....
It says codiene dreams not cocaine....
Hey Sean, know when to shut up
@Wolf Hammer I didn't choose him as an addict. I chose him as a soulmate and it's through thick and thin. He was hurting deep down for years and hid it well.
@Sean O'Neill I know how to read.
I'm so sorry I have been through a cocaine overdose and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. When u sit there with your heart ready to explode all you can think of is your loved ones. You were in his last thoughts I guarantee. I'm sorry for your loss. Frfr
An absolute masterpeice
Prayin' on the north wind
Lead me to my door
Thumbing through my green backs
Swearin' I made more
Some cruel nightly cycle
Leaves me cryin' on a motel floor
I don't cry for you
Anymore
[Verse 2]
Many a dark hour
I look up to the sky
Many unkind thoughts are laid
On my hazy eyes
Sometimes I get to thinkin'
Why wait around to die
I don't think of you
So I get by
Every day it seems
My whole damn life's just a codeine dream
I don't dream of you
Anymore
The sun is gone away now
Green grass turns to brown
Every December it gets a little bit harder
To lay that bottle down
It's more than just the weather
That plagues this prairie town
I won't be seeing you
When I come 'round
[Chorus]
Every day it seems
My whole damn life's just a codeine dream
I don't dream of you
Anymore
Jeez Louise he breaks my heart.
holy shit. I've been listening to this song for months and just got around to the idea it's not only about a girl... Mind blown...
Remington what else do you think it’s about? Genuinely curious about your ideas!
He’s kicked his addiction to drugs?
If any artist music is more under appreciated its colter this man deserves the fame
For real his Music is art even if this isn't some one style of Music they cant Refused this is beautiful
I’m a cocaine addict... 120 days free...
I love to sing, I can’t sing this without shaking... I don’t dream of her anymore.
Props guys. For real. Though I Don't have that demon, I know those that do.
Been clean since may 26th. Got hooked at the ripe old age of 17 and I thank god I quit as early as I did. You got a Georgia boy proud of you for making it this far, brother.
I lost my husband a week before christmas this past year to a cocaine addiction which lead to his depression..... he played this song often. Ugh
Also good for you. It ain't easy
You've taken the best decision you could have. I was also an addict to cocaine, but I've been free of it for more than 4 years now. Trust me, leaving it is totally worth it.
he's gonna be famous in 6 months
Unfortunately no, but thankfully hes not been ruined either
Ethan Smith exactly, I don’t think he would ever sell out like the so called “country” singers nowadays but you never know with fame, and a good thing with him is he makes music he seems to enjoy and just the paying customers seem to enjoy
I love this
