Waits, Tom - Gin Soaked Boy Lyrics

I got a belly full of you
and that Leavenworth stuff
now I'm gonna get out
And I'm gonna get tough
you been lying to me
How could you crawl so low
with some gin-soaked boy
that you don't know

I come home last night
full a filth of Old Crow
you said you goin' to your ma's
but where the hell did you go
you went and slipped out nights
you didn't think that I'd know
with some
gin-soaked boy that you don't know

Well I would bet you as far
as Oklahoma by now
the dogs are barking out back
and you're knittin' your brow
well I'm on your tail I sussed your M.O.
from some gin-soaked boy
boy that you don't know

  2. Paul Stenhouse

there's something wrong with Tom waits , in a good way .

    Ma Sh

Yeah, wrong in a fantastic way!

  3. punkpoetry

The least interesting track on the album, though still really good

  4. victor was right

the similarity to captain beefheart cannot be coincidence.

    PlainSimpleTailor

    No doubt at all ;)

    WEFLYKITESDAILY

It sounds JUST like beef heart

Have you guys listened to Tom's early higher pitched folk blues?

  5. Choose A Better Name

I'm still "Waiting" for a good song by Tom Waits. Such bollocks!

    P bubs

Shut your stupied mouth up moron

    Meredith Williams

It's cool. Not everybody has the same tastes in music. And Tom Waits can sound really abrasive to a lot of people. Cheers, friend!

    ArchEnema 67

Go back to Beyonce, Billy Joel, Motley Crue, or whatever "Fallen" and inauthentic commercial tripe you listen to. You don't have the intellectual capacity to appreciate gems like this. :)

  6. John Disque

This is a great song to just sit around and jam-to, although the guitar work is tricky and some of it is out of time... you don't have to play it note-for-not to capture the vibe and have fun with it.

Cheers to Tom, wherever you are.

  8. Triplo Malto - It's Only Rolling Stones

In some way it reminds me Exile on main street

    BeardedMonkeyRecords

@Triplo Malto: One of Tom Waits' favorite albums right around the time this album was being made, I read.

  9. Chas No

How hard can you hammer this out on a guitar? Not hard enough!

  10. Sally F

One of Waits' best -- with great guitar work. Too bad it's only two minutes' long!

    ArchEnema 67

This solo always reminds of the one from Cold Water. :)

  11. Mike O'Flannigan

I come home last night, full 'a fifth a ol' crow. Said you goin' to your ma's--where the hell did you go?
