My love affair with Volbeat began the first time I heard Maybellene I Hofteholder. It wasn't on purpose or anything. I just heard it and knew there was something there. I was like, How could I have missed these guys?!? Before that, H.I.M., the69eyes, and Lacuna Coil were about the only foreign bands I any interest in or knew much about. It wasn't long until Light A Way became one of my all-time favorite songs from any band, from any country, from any continent.




Volbeat, like H.I.M., is one of those bands that I just never thought that I'd have much of a chance to see live..... at least not without traveling a good distance. But they're coming to Scranton, Pa. this August - and I couldn't be more excited!!! That's virtually in my backyard! I can hear most concerts from my yard. This has become one of those things that I don't even care if I have to go alone. My wife isn't into rock concerts, my son is still too young, I'm not getting any younger and neither are my friends. I'd rather not be "that guy", the old man (42), rocking out alone at a concert. But I don't really care. Hell, I don't even care if I get there early enough to catch whoever else is playing the Knotfest Roadshow - Slipknot included. Seeing Volbeat is on my bucket list. Time to cross them off \m/

I really like this band but I really hate autotune. This guy can sing so why do they mess up every studio song with this crap. They are better live.

this band brings me back to the days when I had it good and shit was easy. I have no tangible reminders of those days, but I still have the music I listened to. Nowadays, I've always got some bitch or asshole throwing more weight on my back and everywhere I turn, there's some shit I can't stand. What happened to the times when I'd do some field work with my dad and go hang out with his friends out in the country? His friend we'd visit moved, my dad never did any more field work...hell, even school was going great for me. I was in middle school back then, I miss that place...the high school I go to makes me feel depressed just being close to it, even if I'm just passing by it. I've been stuck at home with nothing to do, back then, we'd burn a skeleton of gas a day riding around having a good time. I even remember we'd go out and do stuff...oh man; so many people and places I can hardly remember just disappeared and haven't turned up in years...if I could take it all back and trade all my possessions, I would. I've always got some bullshit to put up with now, back then, things were so good, it doesn't even feel like it happened. T-T

for myself there is VOLBEAT and then there is everything else

i heard them last for the first time last summer. my boyfriend introduced me to them, right before he passed away. It was his favorite band and we were going to see them in Detroit. This song is one that i hold dear to me. Prayers for the person(s) to come forward who killed him in a hit-and-run when he was crossing telegraph on foot. Volbeat rocks!!
