Man this is still fresh, raw, distinct and original. Thank you Voice Vod, thank you. Unconventional and outside the box. Nobody was ever like them. Saw them on this tour with Celtic Frost and Zoetrope in Chicago at the metro. One of my personally favorite thrash shows then saw them again on the Technology tour. Brutal man. I've seen them a few more times however this was when they were at their most quirky and brutal.
One of my faves! 80's Thrash was the best!
To me the 'Big Four' were SLAYER, Metallica, VoiVod and Coroner.

This was one of the heaviest albums when it came out in 86, brutal and intense!! It sounded much heavier than Slayer and Venom , Metallica etc.. IMO, it just had a punk edge and raw production. I remember playing it to my friends and they were blown away, definitely thrash with heaps of hardcore thrown in. Love it !!! I used to own this LP totally unplayed in mint condition,infact it was on white label,i aquirred it,listed it on ebay years ago and sold if for £50,it was sent to Germany,over there they are nuts for this type of stuff

Yeah, the music's like a big scary machine alright! The cover sums the music up well.
Voivod had a sound all their own. They didn't sound like the Bay Area thrash bands, English Canadian thrash bands, German thrash bands, etc. They really came out of nowhere.

When you grow up in Québec, you speak French, you dream in French and you fuck in French. Of course, your creativity has nothing to do with boring canadians (where everybody go t o bed at 10 PM...)
