I remember them well. You heard the name 'Vixen', & knew they we're all female, but nobody really knew their music. It didn't get air play. I heard more from Suzi Quatro & her band, & of course Joan Jett & Heart.
Wish Vixen had gotten the air time & attention they so deserved. These girls screamed ROCK MUSIC & they had amazing Hair!!

Surprisingly, everyone so far has died from Cancer at such young ages!

Vixen played last night at Riverfest in Watertown, Wisconsin. ..they did a great job...too bad most of the crowd was to young to remember the good old rock n roll bands of the 80's...I enjoyed the show!!

I didn't even know that she passed away...sad how a lot of great stars pass every day or week and we don't even know. I'm 47 and to think she passed away and was only 4 years older than me is always a true wake up call, the older we get the more we realize how short our time is on this planet...we need to make the best of it while we're here...this one life is the only shot we have!

Of course they are still around! And they have their sister channel VH1 Classic ,which shows everything music ,and especially related to the good old stuff they used to show back then, and its even better than regular VH1.

I'll be honest. I've never heard of this band before. So far I've watched three music videos and all I can say is that their music is great. Obviously a very talented bunch. Why they didn't become more popular, I don't know. Beautiful ladies too.

There were around 8 female bands at this time who were regularly touring and who had top 40 hits at that time. They were bit harder than the Bangles and not as successful. Lita Ford was doing a lot better. Girlschool, L7 and several more had nearly the same level of hits. Again. I was there, and I was a musician. I knew who was around. We were expected to be experts!

They were competing with tons of similar bands. There's plenty that deserved more credit. I always thought white lion deserved poison/skid row level success, faster pussycat not far behind. I saw vixen a year or so ago with slaughter and autograph. Vixen owned that show by far

Vixen was very popular, but they achieved success toward the end of the glam metal boom, and the ensuing rise of grunge.

4 Hard Rockin' ladies doing what they do!!!!!

They are a cross section of America......1 of Hispanic & Italian descent, another of British & Irish descent, another of Germanic descent, last of Dutch descent. They are the last group of women that could truly rock. Folks, these ladies could lay it down.....YouTube does not do them justice. They were like 4 goddesses that landed out of the sky in front of you and they rocked hard. Janet's vocals were crisp, clear, Roxy pounding those drums so hard she'd rise out of her seat, the female equivalent of Motley Crue's Tommy Lee & his only female counterpart, Jan coming to front of stage, at 5'10" tall with heels over 6 feet an imposing figure just tearing up chords & riffs crystal clear her fingers moving at lightning speed. And Share, just effortlessly plugging that bass so perfectly. They were sight & sound to behold. When Jan tore into a solo you'd just stare in amazement & awe.
