Vinton, Bobby - Wooden Heart Lyrics
Can't you see
I love you
Please don't break my heart in two
That's not hard to do
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart
Then I know that I would cry
Maybe I would die
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart
There's no strings upon this love of mine
It was always you from the start
Treat me nice
Treat me good
Treat me like you really should
'Cause I'm not made of wood
And I don't have a wooden heart
Muss I denn, muss I denn
Zum Stadtele hinaus
Stadtele hinaus
Und du, mein schat, bleibst hier?
There's no strings upon this love of mine
It was always you from the start
Sei mir gut
Sei mir gut
Sei mir wie du wirklich sollst
Wie du wirklich sollst
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart

Old German folksong
When I hear this song I'll think about G.I. Blues with Elvis Presley movie.
The puppet show was so cool & funny.
I have this song on Elvis Presley CD.
I have Bobby Vinton's version
of Wooden Heart on a record.
The other side is Polka Pose.
My late grandmother Betty bought me this record.
I'll play this in her honor.
Both Elvis Presley CD & this record
still plays good yet today
no skips at all.
omg memories! I was 15 when this came out...my parents thought I was nuts...in this speaker we have kiss, ted nugent, aerosmith...and...bobby vinton??? Yep!

Multumiri si imbratisari !

Great song, well performed and executed..."NICE and Sweet". For all you Harmonica Play-A-Longers..This song or tune can be played in the key "D" change to the key of
"Eb" at timeline 01:12
country music
German or Polish....I can't understand either, but I do understand a good, cheerful, heart-happy song when I hear it. Great job Bobby...I've got to do a cover of your (this) song and make it even more happier.
For all you "Play-alongers" who wish to play along with this tune can do it in the key of "D" then at 1:12 Key "Eb". Throw down on this song it's the easyest song you could ever pick to learn how to play a harmonica.
The Harmonica Man
The Harmonica Man
Every person that sees this reply please read it to the end, it's very important for everyone to know all about this: Thanks for the hit Wilma...Get yourself a harmonica and get ready for my intro to YouTube where I will teach the world how to play a Harmonica in under ten minutes or less (for real)...Go to ebay and get a Suzuki Hammond HA-20 Harmonica in the key of "G"..Why the Key of "G"? Most people buy a key of "C" when they are a beginner because all the Harmonica lessons are printed in that key of "C" (for blues style of play)...With my style of playing a harp (called Play-A-Longers) you only need one simple easy to learn instruction that I will give in less than a minute and it doesn't make any difference what key you buy to start with. I will be teaching in the key of "G" because it is pleasent to the ear and the human heart. Oh...by-the-way...please subscribe to my channel so I can let you know as quickly as I get my introductory video posted and the whole world learns how to play a harp to any song they wish to, at any time and anywhere they are with their harp...It's going to be a fun day for me...The reason I never took the time to let the world know about all this is because no harmonica manufacturer made a harp right until Mr. Manji Suzuki in Japan did it...plus... it took me forever to learn about this Harmonica in order for me to buy one. "The Cat is out of the bag"...now everyone will be playing the harmonica....Where there are only a million or so harmonica players in the world there will be Billions when they learn the truth about the harmonica story and just how it got painted into a corner of over-blowing, bending notes etc called Blues style of playing the Harmonica. As quick as I get my new YouTube Video making Studio completed..."IT'S ON". Again thanks for the hit...You are the very fisrt person to make a comment. John "The Harmonica Man". Smiling at the whole world...I just can't wait !!!!
A solid wall of text without any breaks is very hard to read, so I didn't. You need to break your text into several paragraphs with a blank space between them if you want people to read it.
Vinton sang the second verse in Polish. I have yet to find the Polish lyrics in written form.
An acquaintance who is Polish wrote the lyrics down for me. Here they are: Ta ladna, ta ladna, jestes taka ladna, ja tak kocham ciebie jeszt moja dziewcyna;
Ta ladna, ta ladna, jestes taka ladna, ja tak kocham ciebo masz mickie serce.
SOLIDARNOŚĆ
The melody is German - generally thought to come from Swabia (Schwaben), near the Black Forest. The Vinton words are not German - serce (which I can make out) is the Polish word for "heart", The original German / Swabian dialect words also constitute a love song, but nothing about a wooden heart - "If I must leave, If I must leave the town, and you have to stay here - when I come, when I come again, I'll return to you." .etc

Somewhere in Heaven John Paul II is grinning.
Bobby Vinton (Polish Prince) From Cannonsberg Pennsylvania...born 1935.. . He is of Polish descent. Cannonsberg Pa. is where Perry Como was from..But Perry Como was of Italian descent.
cool...
the words make a lot of sense
enjoy Berta
As I recall, Bobby Vinton said his grandmother fussed at him to sing a song in Polish, and he chose this song.
Bobby is Polish, I am guessing he is singing Polish. It is definitely not German. :)
Thank you! I remember listening and singing this song when I was a young girl. Oh, such happy memories!
Great!!!!!
Interesting. Good on Bobby. Elvis must've been aware of this for in August 1975 Elvis sang a line of "Roses are Red". Is that verse done in Polish ?
@26greenrose You're welcome, Greenrose!
@CarlDuke A perennial favorite! Thanks for your information!
Another good release LimeP. This appeared in the Elvis movie G. I. Blues, was a hit for Joe Dowell in 1961 and in recent years was part of a CD from the great Belgian performer Helmut Lotti, under its original German name Muss I Denn. This is the first time I've heard the Vinton version.
