Vile, Kurt - Smoke Ring For My Halo Lyrics
Smoke ring for my halo
Angel, demon, human
Oh, the rest have made it
Over and over
Think I could see it now
Think I could see it now
Think I could see it now
Smoke ring for my halo
Human, angel, demon
Hundreds have made it
Right under the roof of your house
Thought you could see it then
Thought you could see it then
Thought you could see it then, yeah
Sippin' from the soda can
Exercises mind
Pacifies the land
Makes a move steady, a jilted man
I feel like layin' down
I feel like layin' down
Yeah, and I wanna do it again
Oh, what a mess I guess I'm in

Vile, Kurt Smoke Ring For My Halo Comments
Wow. Not sure whether I am intrigued or jealous! :P ha
There's so many great 80's songs I'd like to hear for the first time again!
*INXS* - Don't Change *Big Country* - In A Big Country *U2* - Bad
*Dire Straits* - Romeo & Juliet *Springsteen* - I'm On Fire *Bloc Party* - Banquet
Just having an evening guddling through some of our favourite troupador KV's magic songs- this one along with Air Bud, Beaches on the Moon and Wild Imagination don't half do it for me!- I become more and more connected with KV's energy vibes and feel like drifting to a higher & mighter plane- Brian Patrick Carroll does this to me too- could youn imagine KV & Buckethead as a duo now that would be something else?!
Kurt’s drummer is exceptional to me. He lays down such a steady, delicious beat.
Beautiful power.
the things I like about songs like this are the sound and guitar work. Not necessarily the lyrics. Though I do feel like it's a good song of regretful company...
animals hbo show brought me here
One day I will save enough to afford a trip to see you Kurt, my favourite ballads are coming from you and you are simply up there with the legendarymusicians and lyricsts
Çağlar Polat you will not regret when you do. He is great live. Such a talent.

iTunes suggested this album to me years ago. i didnt listen to it immediately but the album cover intrigued me. He reminds me of Neil Young here...
He really is a modern Neil Young.
Kurt is a really huge Neil Young fan.
I don't know how I ended up here, but this is a fucking revelation.
It was Jenn.
love this.

I feel like layin downnnn
Agreed. This one sounds very Led Zeppelinesque though... Now here is a suggestion from my native Quebec: Search for Fred Fortin, Plastrer la Lune on Youtube (I can't copy the link here, but really, you might discover something. And don't worry about it being in French. Just listen. ;-) Have a nice day.
can't remember the last artist i've enjoyed listening to so much. not necessarily the greatest thing to see live, but unbeatable to just LISTEN to. golden tone to end the new album is quite the moment.
Must be Jazz then.
You had the coolest dad
Desert traveling music on a sunny day. Love Kurt, he's great.
it reminds me of the vibe i used to get when i was 14 or 15 listening to fleetwood macs "rumours". i wasnt alive when it came out. my first listen was 1995. in a not-so-unrelated story;also the year i started hangin out with ole mary jane ........good summer

Unfortunately my friend(I call you friend because, if we actually met in real life, I'm sure we would be) not everyone has this outlook on music. Some like to measure music as if it was a science. Others take it for granted like the air we breathe. I can infer that you are not with those crowds. Music, especially good music, comes from the heart. It's a means of conveying your soul into something tangible. I agree with you 100%.
East bound and down brought me good music.
-3 lovee this! *
-3 this
agreed. some of neil's best stuff doesn't use many.
well i wouldn't say that chord don't matter at all , the right variation of chords it's what makes you feel a certain way
When you play the C, fret the B string on third fret, then first fret, then open. That's the cool repetitive lick, kind of a dust in the wind thing.
agreed 100% man.
Good song! Heard bout them at Ameoba :)
Awesome.
it doesnt matter that its just three chords most songs although you might not notice it are just a three or four chord progression over and over. Life during wartime by the talking heads is just two
hey im a 15 year old singer songwriter making acoustic indie folk music. if your interested check out my page! thanks!
koko baby!
so awesome
THIS IS GREAT!
@allthesecars Technical ability should be appreciated, but it should never be the only thing considered. If I can't relate to a song, or it doesn't change my mood or at least make me feel SOMETHING then it's not a good song. And I do play guitar. Not all guitarist think only about technical ability.
Large Marge sent me.
Kurt Vile is officially the most brilliant name for a musician ever...
@SoasisG Well, to add a little bit more, good music (and great music) has its character come from timbre and phrasing and warmth not just technicalities. That are a lot of guitar wizards out there who can fire off a thousand notes in three seconds or cram seven time changes in three minutes and its about as interesting to listen as paint drying. I like more complex things and less complex things but its the character of the piece that makes art, art - complex or simple.
People complaining about simple songs is why I'm glad I never picked up a guitar. I can appreciate the music as whole, instead of just it's technical aspect.
Everyone check out Kurt's band The War On Drugs in the side bar-----> they kick ass and deserve more views then what they have!
my Download should start soon
Guys on Youtube are all crying that music of today suck. But it's clear they didn't came listen this video.

This reminds me of Jesus & Mary Chain laid back cool rocking!
@SoasisG you're right, chords don't matter in pop music
I read a review of this album and i just had to get a listen of it. I don't regret doing it now coz I'm loving
i love the vibe of this music.
uno de los mejores discos del año!
@r0b0hobo D, C, Em.
'If it has more than three chords, it's jazz.” - Lou Reed
@assaglioli which three? G and C obviously but what's the third? (I'm being facetious)
@SoasisG when i was at bonnaroo last year i met this faggot fukking indie kid that kept trashing bands for just playing power chords. my favorite bands nirvana, so needless to say he pissed me off a great deal. "there's no such thing as simple. simple is hard" -Martin Scorsese
could be 68 could be 82 could be 91, 2001 0r 2056, just so heartening to hear free music for once this guy just drifts, rockin
Pure MAGIC!!!!
honestly...kurt vile is a great guitarist....i've found in his albums a magic sound!!!!...but i can't find melodic creativity...i think that if he would play guitar without sing he will be 1000 times better!!
@assaglioli hahahah embarrassed by your ignorance, i was just saying man, settle the fuck down, this is about Kurt Vile- not you. As much as that may disgruntle you. Its the way it is.
