I remember hearing this song on a bleach AMV god it's been years and I just remembered it out of nowhere

I try to decipher this song, it seems to be about a failed long distance relationship. She had to leave him to pursue her dreams, and he promised he would always be there, however he didn't keep the promise. True love became an illusion, her heart started to grow old... Really sad poem and melody.

"He was a beautiful fiction I invented to keep out the cold". He wasn't a real person. She created a lover for herself in her mind based on her ideals. It's quite simple and the lyrics don't leave much room for interpretation.

I went to one of her concerts and she said it was an homage to the humble minivan. It's basically about an unhappy "soccer mom" type, from what she said.

I think the way I took the song, it was about a man who basically conned her into thinking he loved her. And when she went away, her heart was still his, but he'd moved on without ever looking back. So, the part about him being a beautiful fiction was her creation of the idea that he loved her, when in reality, it was all a lie to stave off her own loneliness. But either way, I really like hearing other peoples' interpretations of the song ^_^ .

I heard this song like, 4 years ago I think now on dish networks little radio stations and when I heard it I repeated the name like billions of time so that way years from then, when I wanted to understand and truly listen to this song, I could find it. And now I listen, its mezmerizing. I'm a dude by the way, and I find this song amazing. Sitting here now, I feel like I'm falling into something... deeper.

It may be fancy, but I always liked to imagine 'Blue Caravan' as a reference to an old Gypsy Caravan. Like the old folk songs of running off with the Gypsies

@drchristyberry Well, it isn't exactly certain that her "true love" and the "blue caravan" are one in the same, though it is a valid interpretation. I actually like it the way it is because it gives the song a sense of cohesiveness while also emphasizing the "blueness" that permeates the mood.

I remember when I first listened to this song. It was a year ago, and it was raining softly outside, a fall evening. This song came on and it was like I was in a different place. Her voice just captures you, and brings you along for the ride, envelopes you into the emotion of the song even if you don't relate to it, you feel like you're there within it...

I discovered this song (and Vienna for that matter) a couple of days ago and it got me hooked; I listen to it often through the day and cannot stop singing it

though i do not relate to the lyrics, there's something enchantingly familiar about the feeling of it, like a taste of a forgotten memory

there's definitely a little magic at work here
