My favourite song from verve, I'm going into peculiar ways, need to rise straight to the light.

this has to be one of my favourite songs of all time and holds such a special meaning to me. this was my dad's favourite song and when he passed this song really helped me through it. although we didn't have the best relationship, this song helped me to not look back "on my life and all the things I could've changed, I could've done" as the song says. such a beautiful song that will hold the most special meaning to me forever.

There really is something very special about this song. I think it takes a certain type of person to appreciate it.

Ashcroft was a quality song writer! Up there with Morrison with his thought invoking lyrics! But there was a few bands back then that never got the credit they deserved!!

Its a crime that Oasis gets a classic album doc on Whats the Story Morning Glory, and this album gets nothing. For me, and for many others, this album is a pivotal point in this generation of music. With songs like this one, and Weeping Willow, Bittersweet, Drugs Dont Work, Come On, etc., this album is timeless in it's essence and appeal. The Verve are THE most underrated band of all time, and it's a shame the inner conflicts ruined the magic. They could have been the next great band like the Beatles and the Stones...

Even today, quality will be recognized. But instead of making music, bands are more worried about how good their you tube channel looks. Also, there is some global apathy when it comes to creating something new, and everyone is just trying to emulate a certain period... fuck that! New time needs new sound.
