I apsolutely love Cronos' voice. Just the right amount of growling, snarling bloodcurdling savagery - genuinely malevolent and gleefully evil. Great charisma and gallows humour. Hahaha.
Not comically over the top like many squealing black metallers or cookie monster death metal vocals. I just cannot take them serious - frankly it damages the effect they're trying to get. It's not scary or menacing - just fucking stupid sometimes.

I agree. many.....and its not the tunes they pay regularly live. Its all the "B" stuff. Crazy that from all the thousands of tunes I listen to, Venom is up there in the top 10 of music I listen to constantly.

Its funny because not only these 3 bands arent considered death metal nowadays, but also they sound nothing like each other.

@gabriel77196 you need to keep in mind the history of this release. It was suggested by Thomas Fischer to the label which released that comp. Thomas had a fanzine called "Death Metal" and its logo was also used on the compilation. At that time the "Death Metal" term did not define the musical genre and probably the meaning was something like "Killer Metal".

When Venom started practially there were no other bands like them. They also played in really small places, were loud as hell (basically all the neighborhood got to listen to them) and their shows were total bonkers with lots of fireworks and smoke. They lost all that gimmick when they got big.

Oh, yea, and Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot are Metal bands. Slipknot is Nu Metal whilst Sevenfold...I think they were metalcore. Either way, I don't listen to A7X(I came across the term a while ago on the .net), To add, you seem like more of a poser than them. I mean, Judas and Venom are legends and most metalheads and most metalheads listen to them(or know about them). The fact that you use them as "fallback" bands, then..well, something smells fishy.
