Velvet Underground, The - Who Loves The Sun Lyrics

Who loves the sun
Who cares that it makes plants grow
Who cares what it does
Since you broke my heart

Who loves the wind
Who cares that it makes breezes
Who cares what it does
Since you broke my heart

Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Not everyone
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun

Who loves the rain
Who cares that it makes flowers
Who cares that it makes showers
Since you broke my heart

Who loves the sun
Who cares that it is shining
Who cares what it does
Since you broke my heart

Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Not everyone
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun
Sun
Sun
Sun

Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Not everyone
Pa Pa Pa Pa
Who loves the sun

  4. Epitaph Boi

So what genre of music would this be? I wanna learn to play this type of music

  5. dianne guzzetti

Reminds me of my brother JOEBETZ

  6. RadioGuy

The thing is, I thought people would've hated this record because of how commercial it was.
I guess this was their way of saying we can do this music too.
Boy did it work out for them though.

  7. SellMe YourSoul

    needs more triangle

  8. Jonathan Whitfield

This song feels like a ray of early morning sunshine on your face.

    Such a strong Beatles vibe.

  9. Sharifa Bohm

for some reason i always imagine a comical skit of myself being murdered to this song.

  10. wannababrit

That Harri Georgeson was found guilty of plagiarism for My Sweet Lord sounding too much like He's So Fine, well maybe they should've listened to this first!

    Fuckles The Enchilada

This was intentionally made to be a beatles tribute though, to be fair.

  11. Valentin Leparoux

George Harrison on the vocals ?

  12. beepst

The chorus could perfectly be from a Death Cab For Cutie song.

  13. Nugsy Malone

I first heard this song on the radio and totally thought it was a beatles song I never heard before.... god bless shazam

  14. Sergio J. Felipa

I just can't ignore the fact that he sounds a lot like George Harrison and no one seems to notice

    Ju Ju

I always thought doug yule sounded familiar and you're right! He does sound a lot like george on here

    Michael Biondo

Sergio J. Felipa everyone definitely noticed

    Sergio J. Felipa

@Michael Biondo are u sure about that?

    Aadarsh Nemana

    I can’t un-hear George now - damn you Sergio

  15. MrRatherino

sixties radio....never played Velvet Under/never heard of them performing anywhere/yet EVERyONE had their albums...

  16. daskitten1

Sounds like an outtake from Pet Sounds, or Abby Road, & I mean that in the nicest way possible....

    the ghost of k-rismas past

oh, but not pet sounds since that album sucks.

    Cyborg Godfrey

    Fuck the Beatles!

  17. Gareth Beare

    I'm aging. Time creeps on.

  18. Andy Harrier

oh my god im back in high school riding the bus 1998 ~~~~~

  21. I'm unsubscribing.

    Awful album, overrated band.

    Chris Ryan

    Bad take

    I'm unsubscribing.

    @Chris Ryan Faggot.

    Chris Ryan

I'm unsubscribing. Who hurt you, bro?

    Epitaph Boi

    Chris Ryan His Wife’s boyfriend

  22. Andy Boerger

I never realized that their kinda sending up The Beatles at the 1:55 mark. Almost like something Zappa and The Mothers would do.

    aadicool2011

This is the most Beatles-esque velvet underground song I think; however, that 1:55 part sounds more beach boys than anything else !! Something you’d find on pet sounds for sure

    Aleksandar Djuric

It could be a nod to Here Comes the Sun, the entire song ;)

    Andy Boerger

@Aleksandar Djuric Yes! That's what I felt the last time I listened to it.

  23. lucalone

    Doug on vocals, not Lou.

  24. Lynnda Davis

i love the triangle they play in this song lol or at least i think its a triangle

    John Whitewöod

Lynnda Davis! It seems a Ride Cymbal (Part of a Drum). I love this sound too!

  25. Nicolas Villalba

    James Ballard

VU is what the Beatles would be if they weren't soulless monsters.

    Don Feik

what does this bad take even mean.

    KingOfPopStars

    VU > beatles anyday :)

    Jimmy Bob

Eh beatles are better but this band is good

    Esdra Zanga

The Beatles are brilliant, velvet underground were great also, don't get me wrong but Beatles were something else man. Lennon/ McCartney genius songwriters

  34. BizzarreProductions

I worked as a seasonal associate at Vans last year. The playlist was a smattering of skate punk and rap songs that I was completely unfamiliar with... and one day this played right between two very aggressive rock songs. I'm actually not sure what it's doing on the Vans playlist...

    Actiomedey

@jaye see They're comfy and look nice and last a while. Why you so mad at them?

    jaye see

    I love 'em! X

    guillermo toscano

@Travis are you implying punk isnt cool? How can you like VU and not punk?

    Travis

@guillermo toscano No, but think I understand how that could be implied. I haven't been to *Vans* in over a decade, yet assumed that they might now play some "pop punk" made by poseurs and capitalists. Yet I have no idea, really, and certainly like at least _some_ punk music: _The Dead Kennedy's, The Buzzcocks,_ and even _Green Day_ sounds good to me.

    Leo Coogan

Actiomedey I have to differ w/ lasting a while. They don’t last much longer than any other shoes. I also think they’re a bit uncomfortable compared to other shoes imo. Just my opinion.

  35. Ian N. Poulson

I bought the original of this album a very long time ago and this track instantly became my favourite track on the album - just love everything about it. I still think, like I did when I first heard the song, that this is Lou Reed creating a beautiful pop song that could have easily been handed to The Beatles: melodic, smooth, great harmonies, and a moving bass line which carries the song along so well and one which Paul McCartney would have been so proud of!

    Travis

This song reminds me a bit of Syd Barrett.

    jacks smirking revenge

yeah, my ex girlything who introduced me to the velvets asked me whether it was a beatles' cover. very melodious and bittersweet

i wish lou reed wouldve taken this approach with more of his hooks and riffs - really giving in to his pop side, tidying it up and overall just adding that mccartney-esque touch.. though i know many velvet fans couldnt think of anything worse 😅

oh sweet nuthin for example is one of my favourite all-time songs, if he'd have just spent a bit of time perfecting/polishing it up, maybe grind through 25+ takes beatles' style - i truly think it could have been one of the greatest musical pieces of modern times. their equivalent to queen's bohemian rhapsody

    Javier Merino

@jacks smirking revenge It already is one of the greatets songs of the modern age imo

    ballhawk387

    Or even the Turtles...

  36. Jacopo Fallavena

Someone here thanks to American Gods?

    MTB435

    Jacopo Fallavena no, fuck off.
