Velvet Underground, The - Sweet Jane Lyrics
Standin' on a corner
Suitcase in my hand
Jack's in his corset, Jane is in her vest
and me I'm in a rock 'n' roll band. Huh.
Riding a Stutz Bear Cat, Jim
all the poets studied rules of verse
and those ladies they rolled their eyes
Sweet Jane
Sweet Jane
Sweet Jane
Now Jack, he is a banker
and Jane, she's a clerk
and both of them save their monies
when they get home from work
sittin downby the fire
the classical music there, Jim
The March of the Wooden Soldiers
All you protest kids
you can hear Jack say
Sweet Jane
Sweet Jane
Sweet Jane
Some people they like to go out dancin
and other people they have to work. Just watch me now
and there's even some evil mothers
Well there gonna tell you that everthing is just dirt
you know that women never really faint
and that villians always blink their eyes
that children are the only ones who blush
and that life is just to die
But anyone who ever had a heart
they wouldn't turn around and break it
and anyone who ever played a part
They wouldn't turn around and hate it
Sweet Jane, Sweet Sweet Jane

"But I said, "Should a man like me run away?....I will not go!" Ne 6:11 Niv
If someone told me this was the Stones, I’d’ve believed them for sure
The beginning takes me to paradise, but when the song ends i come back to hell or earth again.
I practised guitar every day for three years in return for a total of about 30 seconds of pure bliss.
Worth every second. Practice, practice, practice.
And as Jesus said - try not to be a fuckwit.
Should have been a huge hit.
Who Is listening while a spike in the vein? 😆
I heard this in a CSI episode (season 7)
Whats this LP worth now? I've got a crate of old classic LP's.
Michael Noller You can’t sell it!

It's what all that who get it, wished they were, and what who all that don't get it wished they knew....
It’s definitely a toss up between who has the coolest singing voice of all time, Lou Reed or Bob Dylan?
Sean Stewart hard decision
Excellenta
Overrated, but still great.
I love how magical this intro sounds
In their time they were not popular. Their music was not considered commercial and it was not played on the radio stations largely because they sang about drugs, lonely people, lost souls, homeless, alcoholics, societal dregs, race relation, interracial sex....you could not play a song with lyrics like Heroin it's my life, it's my wife, it will be the death of me.or about waiting on a street-corner on Sunday Morning to buy a bag of smack.or you are waiting for the man with 26 dollars in you hand..in the 1960's so their exposure to a greater audience was limited to the hipsters and the counter-culture which has been exaggerated in its size and influence over the years. Magazines to promote the new musical meme's of the 1960's were in their infancy and had limited circulation also limiting their audience. These magazines also harshly criticized groups like the Velvet Underground especially the vocals of Nico, who was part of the group at the insistence of Andy Warhol, who was managing the group. It did not help their popularity that they also recorded for Verve Records which was, at that time, considered a Jazz label and only started exploring the new popular forms of music in the mid 60's signing groups like the Mothers of Invention, Rare Earth, and the Blues Project.
Damn, I have to break up with a girl named Jane. That is gonna fucking suck. Oh well.
ah, bebop
This is one of those songs that’s never loud enough.
just watch me now---------
very cool very epic very sexy
“The first Velvet Underground album only sold 10,000 copies, but everyone who bought it formed a band” Brian Eno
Hence the influence of the album.
This song sucks
one of his best songs !
Sweet Jillian!
fucking mental... I just got asked to say shit about Andy Warhol. Fuck that, as if that will happen.
Pony Cars...1960s...
Could some please give the name of that beautiful intro? Or is it a part of the song?
@Richard Flop Ok. Thank you. I guess that the intro was a cover of another song. Again, thank you.
It remembers "like swimming" of the foals, listen you'll be surprised
Lou Reed is such a visionary he even invented Spongebob music 0:03-0:20
White light white heat
Welcome Supreme Hypebeast trying to relate
i'm on my umpteen cigarette of the day and well into the second bottle of cheap corner shop piss.......and this is.......fantastic
Hi Bukowski.
hi , as i said already ;i give guitar lessons in french and for french talking people here is sweet jane :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFUvSV8AuCE&t=23s Cheers
Lou Reed was such a cunt. Sure, he made great music and contributed in a big way, but if you ever see his interviews he's a drugged out cunt half the time; the other half of the time he's wishing he was high and being a cunt.
my teenage/heroin years, got nothing else to say. It makes me cry even when I'm happy.
"and anyone who had ever played a part..."
I love VU
Why does everyone brag bout discovering VUs when they were a teenager? It's like we have a mental illness where we have to let everyone know we liked cool music at a young age
thanks for posting this song , my c.d. doesn't work no more...!!

Everything is just Dirt‼️
Thumbs down? really?
Loved playing this song and I was the bass player
Sweet Riff <3
How can anyone not tap they're foot when listening to this....❤
You can tell Black Francis liked this.
Those harmonies hit a different part of my soul than any person, drug, song, or emotion
Absolutely love the dissonance and the growling lack of harmonies at the end. Superb!
The origin of the word 'monies'
Oh, bebop!
The guy bought V.V.'s L.P. .... he played electric guitar, really
My daughter's middle name comes from this song.
Jesus.... I am late the the Velvet Underground music. I really wish I started sooner.
You know, if you were to line up everyone in the world and ask them to describe The Velvet Underground, no one AT ALL would say “bebop”?
Good call. You won't be surprised to discover that Warhol simultaneously was championing Sha Na Na 1.0, boys with bare chests beneath gold lame motorcycle jackets, reviving the music that Warhol grew up on but playing it as if they were on speed. Years before they sold out to be a TV series. Google their version of Walk Don't Run at the Fillmore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFOoX02TERA
GOOD OMENS IS MY LIFE
@Vincent Gonzales it's not punk. Have you listened to it?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Anthony Bourdain

Good Omens brought me here !
The chuckling on “when they come home from work” represents the exact reason why the VU were so great. Their music was relaxed and they enjoyed making it
Sei gegrüßt du grüner Fuchs
I love wondering what this song's lyrics are about.
A great poet from USA
A great artist from a great city.
Thanks Liu.
Amazing song.
Is it just me or does he sound kinda like Bob Dylan?
Eternal music.

Prime Number Generator and Evaluator, L-Square Conjecture (Cartridge Wrapper GREY13A):
If you relate prime numbers to a square divided into a gnomon, which is essentially an L-square, in which the units on one side are split in the gnomon so that one side is one number more and less than the continuing side and the total number of the L is a prime number, you can check if the number is a prime by dividing both sides by three. If either side is divisible in a whole number by three, then the number is a prime. You can use this to create, also, formulae for creating prime numbers.
Examples:
P=1/2P + and- 1/2, this gives two numbers (R1, and R2)
R1/3=?
R2/3=?,
For example, 47=(23), (24). 24/3=8, which is a whole number.
or,
P/2 + and - 1/2 divided = R1 and R2. R1/3, or R/2/3 will equal a whole number proving P is prime.
3(R1)+2(R2)=P, or many other variations where you can generate primes also to a degree of 1 in 4.
or,
3x + (3x+1)=P1,
(3x+1) +3x=P2 where in either case P1, or P2 is the same prime.
Or,
If you take one side of the x and replace it with a second number y, then you can generate bigger numbers.
3x + (2y+1)=P1,
2x + (3x+1)=P2...
Be sure that the number (P) you choose is not even or end in 5. Then it's obviously not a prime.
" A rising to power is most inappropriate to its actual journey, and most often it is your face that is most inappropriate." -Vase Basiltine
Are these prime tables used to wrap bullet cartridges or unlock computer security? I don't know. I don't even know if this works because no one has E-Mailed me back from MAA, NSA, RSI, etc. 3/5/19 Mesmer, Hula Hoop, Iron Curtain, Boston Massacre...
The USA. New Mexico. A Matrix Reloaded. Just mentioning it because if someone can make a code then they can hack any password or anything with prime numbers, but the government already has a copy they just never responded. I had videos of it with about 2,000 hits, so either way...is this War of the Worlds? Well, it only takes an hour and a pencil..,
-Dr. Neo Faustus
No comments?! I'll be the first. Just beautiful!!
THE VOICE OF GOD...
I think hes talking about weed
lovely singing .......beautiful music too
Cowboy Junkies version is better? Listen to Lou Reed's version from the album "Rock and Roll Animal"
When the cover of a song is way better than the original, talking about “Cowboy junkies” version, it is way better!.
Grande entre los grandes.
Not the full song
The best songs ive ever heard ever are all named "Sweet Jane"
