Even though Stevie Ray Vaughan is singing 'Tick Tock, sadly he doesn't appear in the video with his brother Jimmie. Regardless Stevie's there in spirit. This makes me think of the video for 'End Of The Line' by The Traveling Wilburys. The video was filmed shortly after Roy Orbison passed on, but he was there in spirit as well.

Beautiful song. I haven't heard this in years and just finished the Audible book, Texas Flood and was reminded of this song so I had to come and listen to it again. What a beautifully powerful song and the book is a wealth of information any fan of Stevie Ray will enjoy.

I wonder sometimes if he did know. Stevie was very close with Jimmy. It's amazing to me that although they each had separate careers for years, the last weeks of Stevie's life were spent making this studio album with his brother, and his very last stage appearance was with his brother. It's almost like, for reasons we'll never understand, that everything happened just like it was supposed to.

I still remember hearing the radio announcement, followed by this song. I was 8 years old. This year I turned 36, one year older than Stevie when he died. It's a strange feeling to outlive your idols/heroes. Stevie also died on my wife's 6th birthday. It's odd how those events sometimes sync up with life.

I used to teach English as a second language. To teach my students listening comprehension, I would play songs for them. I would play short segments at a time, and they would figure out the lyrics. I used "Tick Tock" as 1 of the songs. It's sung very clearly and has a beautiful message, perfect for learning English. My students, from all over, really connected with it. I was happy to listen to the Vaughan brothers at work. 😉 🎤🎶🎸

August 27th 1990: Stevie Ray Vaughan dies in a chopper accident. SO VERY SAD!!!!!

Yea! I saw him live near Cleveland, Ohio just prior to the accident. He was awesome! Just blew me away when I heard the sad news.

He was murdered by an inexpierience pilot who flew smack dap into the side of a mountain in Alpine Valley. three other choppers had no problem because of their experience. Thios jack off never flew in the fog. What a shame that we lost arguably the greatest blues guitarist of all time.
