  16. M.... A....

Well, Ive read this wah wah pedal was one of Hendrix's. Take it or leave it.

    M.... A....

Michael Ashley truth. Jimi was the first. But Stevie did the damn thing. Jimis life wasn't long enough to truly get to his Apex. Sad as it is, couldn't have one without the other honestly. SRV took the blues from Albert King and fired some Jimi add some Roadhouse country style and there you go. All the greats are truly missed.

    M.... A....

Carl Smith you clearly misunderstood what he said

    M.... A....

Naw Understand what he is saying. Like somehow Jimis wah wah was some special sort. It was wired hot. 2 easy to reproduce. Got one at home. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in as I figured thats the way this post would go eventually

    M.... A....

Carl Smith I love the sound of his combines wahs in this song. Great pedals put to use

  17. F.... G....

  18. a.... s....

    fucking beautiful

« Stevie Ray Vaughans blues is uniek. Hij huilt naar de maan, maar met een Nicholson-grijns op zijn bleke smoel. Hij zingt niet “I woke up this morning, my baby was gone …”, maar “I woke up this morning and your husband was in the room …” »

Why does this song make me feel so good? Awesome!

    T.... M....

I don't know, but it does the same for me!!!! Makes me feel so damn good brings tears, all the while wearing a smile so big it's about to break my face!!!

  21. A.... C....

    SRV was insane

  22. J.... ....

    From 0:50 to 1:25 is a masterpiece

  23. v.... h....

I used to think that I played the guitar good, but after listening to this guy, makes me come back to my reality. that I'm one of a l I am a mere mortal

  24. C.... G....

"I coulda used more cowbell"... and wah. this is one of jimi hendrix's wahwah pedals I think.

    C.... G....

Stevie used two wah pedals tied together on this song, that's why it's so intense. But yeah one of them, and the one wah pedal he used on all his other songs that included wah, was the original one that Jimi Hendrix recorded and played live with. A Vox one. Steve's brother Jimmy had played as the supporting band for Jimi back in the day and jimi gave Jimmy his wah pedal, and then Jimmy gave his brother stevie the wah pedal because stevie was such a massive Hendrix fan. I always find that a bit crazy, that on both the original voodoo child and SRV's cover of it, the exact same wah pedal was used

  25. C.... G....

    best ever!

  26. a.... s....

make a bishop kick a hole in a stained glass window

  27. P.... ....

Wah is like cowbell, you can't have enough

    P.... ....

PotatoeCookies that's true. I am a blues guitar myself and whenever I go to some friend that has a wah I just can't stop playing with it.i am gonna buy one myself and quit life

    P.... ....

    Hell yeah mo cowbell

  28. J.... g....

  29. L.... A....

    Great album cover!

    L.... A....

  31. S.... A....

  32. D.... T....

    1:11-1:27

    eargasm

  33. F.... B....

    My favorite from stevie ray!!!!

    F.... B....

    Yes, mine too!

  34. T.... ....

Stevie has the nastiest (in the most awesome way) wah tone in this song! I've heard tell he hooked up two Vox wahs side by each and used them both at the same time. RIPPIN'!!

    T.... ....

TheAxe4Ever first time tonight I’ve ever even heard this song. I’ve been messing with wahs both real and in helix and combining em and so found this awesome effect. Told a mate about and it and he’s like yeah. Go check out SRV and so what. How cool is that.

    T.... ....

@Alec Bourne - Midi Mad Scientist To me, SRV is - was - the only musician _ever_ to nail Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Chile (Slight Return). There is only one slight variation in Stevie's version.

    T.... ....

that's why the title of the song is Say What, that actually means "say wah"...

  35. J.... L....

I cannot get my computer to play this loudly enough.  We miss him and his huge talent. No one else gets to me like Stevie! I will dig out my old cds and have a party today. Thanx for the post....maybe I can vibrate my windows...I will try!!!!

  36. D.... H....

Well here it is, August 27th, again. What a tragic day. I'll never forget this day because it happened the day before my birthday. R.I.P. Stevie Ray! Love Ya!

    D.... H....

Darren Hoeschen Shit the day he died it was my 10th birthday

  37. W.... J....

Soul to Soul, indeed !!! Miss you Stevie Ray !!!

  38. j.... ....

Surprising that Soul to Soul didn't do as well as Texas Flood and Couldn't Stand the Weather. But it's a great album nonetheless. My favorite songs on this are: this, Look at Little Sister, Ain't Gone N Give Up On Love, and Change It. So tragic what happened to him.

    j.... ....

@jazzalex22 Of the studio albums that SRV did, I still feel that Couldn't Stand The Weather and In Step are his best. But the other albums certainly had their high points. And this is certainly one of them!

    j.... ....

I've been a fan of Stevie for over ten years and I love his albums. However, due to Stevie's drug and alcohol abuse, which started to really take over during the recording of Couldn't Stand The Weather, music critics have labeled Soul To Soul his weakest album. But it's still a great record. Every night, Stevie gave his all for the music and for the fans, until he collapse onstage in Germany. But his dedication to the music, THAT'S a real musician. If anybody would like to celebrate Stevie's life, career and legacy, I invite everyone to join Stevie Ray Vaughan: Blues King, where as Stevie said, the house is a-rockin', don't bother, come on in

    j.... ....

Nothing SRV did ever sounded bad. Ever and never
