Vannelli, Gino - Storm At Sunup Lyrics

If I could choose
I'd calm this dawn
But the storm is me insensible and free
Now that you know I've come here to go
You're suddenly sad you've been mine
Oh how the lust for love is blind

Now that you see the man that is me
You're suddenly glad I'll be gone
Oh how the quest for self is strong

Vannelli, Gino Storm At Sunup Comments
  1. K.... H....

At 6:35 into the song, the transition happens- AWESOME

  2. K.... H....

NICE SLOW MELLOW START THEN IT TURNS QUICKLY TO AN UPBEAT JAZZ INSTRUMENTAL FLOW THEN DIES DOWN ...THEN.. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, BONE CHILLING TRANSITION INTO " LOVE ME NOW".
GRAHAM LEAR ( SANTANA). ALL RECORDED ANALOGUE- LOW LOWS AND AMBIENT DRUMS- A MASTERPIECE

  3. B.... W....

Hit the L key on your keyboard precisely at 6:36 for proper appreciation of this terrific song transition.
If you have that editing capability, uploader, it would be valuable.

  4. k.... r....

    Brubeck as "Storm at sunup"..

  5. G.... J....

I'm so blessed to have been born in 1958 and I have heard many artists and explored so many genres but this the pinnacle of supreme music!

  6. I.... ....

Wildly romantic, sensual, and 'let the fantasy fly' music! Vannelli didn't just make great pop-jazz fusion, he made very passionate music to accompany our fantasies for making love to our favorite beautiful women. And YouTube has some nerve planting a commercial in the middle of this video. Insensitive and stupid.

I feel the wind coming like a sweet threating love, filling my body 'n thoughts with its delicious nectar of what could be, "is", taking me away to unexplored lands, that i hope it which will be full of love in secret, thus discovering them in their dazzling lights, the gentle storm having thus overtaken all my will for love.. And I feel myself reliving, and I feel powerfully and valiantly reborn. What a sweet and painful feeling it is.. Very BIG Thank you, Gino 'n co for being, to have created one day this memorable and gigantic musical Masterpiece..

  8. k.... r....

Does the Dave Brubeck' s clarinetist play in this incredible amazing piece..?

  9. k.... r....

  14. T.... F....

I was also marked by this music back in the day. Always listening...

  15. D.... E....

Joe Vannelli lays down an expert keyboard soundscape to Richard Baker's precision fleet footed walking Bass on "Storm," and the Angrily Aggressive bassline on "Love Me Now ! ! !"

  16. S.... M....

Excelente disco. La primera vez que escuché este disco fue como en 1984, mi padre lo ponía en vinilo , excelente música , excelentes tiempos..

  17. M.... R....

Gino is more talented than Herb Alpert ever was, but the tail wags the dog in US music.

    M.... R....

I agree, and that's saying a lot as Herb Alpert was extremely talented.

To see him in concert with his brother and the band was breathing. They don't make any more like this. I still play all his music today and been listening to him since powerful people came out. Live in New Orleans and never missed a concert when he came here

  19. D.... C....

Hearing these two songs is a bit eerie and bittersweet for me. I bought the CD on Sept. 10, 2001. Of course, the next morning.........

  20. s.... ....

I was born in Cuba in 1973 and grew up with my mom's musical taste. Gino Vanelli was on the top of her list. Marvelous!!! And you know what I would like? I would love listening a very crazy version of this song by the geniues Jacob Collier. That would be amazing.

  23. J.... B....

These were the albums that Gino had his brother Joe doing a lot of the arranging. After Joe left the band it just wasn't the same.

    M.... ....

    @blueeyesol I agree.

  26. d.... ....

This piece of music stopped me in my tracks when I 1st heard it back in 1975. To this day it is still the same.

I bought this album the year it came out in 1975 and was stunned. The writing, the arranging (by his very talented brother Joe), the masterful soprano sax solo by my friend Jerome Richardson, and the powerful lyrics. This to me, was his best album!!! Every song is a 'gem'!

    P.... W....

    Ab-so-lu-tely!

    P.... W....

I loved Gino from the first time I heard him. Saw him live in Toronto many (many!) years ago and still smile when I recall how the women swarmed the stage, 5 deep, just to get close to that gorgeous hunk!!

    P.... W....

Great Album , he had 5 gems in a row Powerful People , Storm At Sunups, Gist of The Gemini, A Pauper In Paradise and Brother to Brother.
