This album is one of my favorites, it has musical quality, the selection of the songs was very good. The introduction of this song made with this fingering caused a very good feeling. Well I can't tell you what "darkness"/demons were "chasing" Grace, but we all have them. Grace has a remarkable self-awareness as well as a keen sense of life and people and the so called "Human Condition" for anyone actually, not just for her age. And she also has incredible ability to relate and to vividly and emotionally express what she is feeling, which is the singer-songwriter genius that we recognize in her. Like much of Grace's work this song is fairly complex, it is actually a prayer in which she is saying "I want to be different but I don't know if I can do it on my own", then she asks God for His help obviously fully expecting that He will, which is truly an uplifting message. All of Grace's creations, even the so called "dark" ones have a brighter side or a happier ending or a positive message embedded in them.

One other note, Grace uses her music as a release from the pressures and anxiety that life can bring. There are many examples of that: "Clay", Gossip Girl", "So Much More Than This" all dealt with frustrations she was feeling. And Wow, her new songs from "Letters Vol 1"- "I Don't Like You" , "Poser" and "The City" are all very personal, powerfully expressive and emotional masterpieces that wrestle with an apparent difficult relationship she's had or is facing! Anxiously awaiting "Vol 2" to drop hopefully fairly early this year... stay tuned... hope you're subbed and have the bell clicked!!

This song touched my heart so much, it made me cry. I was visiting my home country after my sister gave birth, and we were going back home. It was a connected, 2-part flight, and I didn't, at all cry, like I usually do. On the second flight, I was going through the music section of the plane, and this was one of the only songs I hadn't listened to. I put my headphones on, and I don't even know what happened, but I just started crying when Grace sang 'I wanna call you/ but if I hear your voice,/ I just might cry.' And it really hurt, since I wasn't in an emotionally stable area.

I think various talented kids come along and are discovered by accident ...and they are very different than what is the current fad is......older folks that were young in the 60's heard a female singer that had a different smoky voice that became a celebrity...Janice Joplin …

And certainly don't think a "Grace VanderWaal Museum" has ever been a flicker in her humble, unassuming mind. Most singers write songs because they want to appear like they are emotionally attached to their own songs but most aren't and most don't even write songs they just sing she does both that is what art is music industry lacks individuality and meaning today most famous singers sing catchy lyrics that doesn't really speak to anything just meaningless words. Music is meaning to speak about how you feel in the moment if you have something that is authentic and inspiring to write a song. for me I have bad times for the past 5 years with my health problems and lately I've been watching music more i love this song because its true authentic and it tells a story depression effects a lot of people including me I've had it so long i learned to live with it but its a battle keep writing songs
