Great song. One of my favorites. However I checked out the live version 2015. IT SUCKS SO BAD I COULD PUKE!!!!!! It was like the studio version was a 90 and live it was like 35. DLR did fantastic as a front man with VH. Classic VH. BUT Sammy was killer....no comparison. 5150 proves that. Even today his voice sounds like 1973 on the Montrose album. Rock Candy is a classic......check it out.

Hands up in surrender, the greatest Van Halen song in the entire catalog. Period.

Listening to this brings back many hairs!! In the studio Roth was good but like every other singer I've met, many who toured? Couldn't keep the fast pace, it gets to ya.

I’ve come to accept that Van Halen and Van Hager were two different beasts— hard to compare them since they are so different—-that being said— I’ve had tons of enjoyment from both versions of VH—we won’t even mention the Cherone VH3 era🤣 most people have forgotten about that album anyways including Eddie, Mike and Alex.

Musically speaking, this is the best song VH ever even thought of recording. If they'd done more stuff at this level of musicianship, the critics might not have been so quick to slog them off as a cock-rock band... maybe.

One of THE BEST VAN HALEN tunes ever recorded!!!! Michael Anthony's best bass work is this album. IMHO! Alex kicks ass on this album as well. Eddie need not mention! One of the most copied rock guitarist in rock history. (RIP Allan Holdsworth, Eddie's biggest influence! Eddie's originality is owed in a big way to Allan Holdsworth) My reason for still being a fan of this band is the fact that these guys are true musicians! Their initial sound when they first came out was more than rock. More like hard rock Fusion! They're still traditionally rock Eddie and Alex bring just enough Jazz with Dave sounding like the Louis Armstrong of Rock. With that the Legend was born!

According to several sources, the bass parts on this album and Fair Warning were actually played in the studio by Eddie. Anthony's no slouch either, but there are some significant stylistic differences in the bass that suggest it wasn't him playing these parts.
