Badass song! It was originally recorded and video with Gary Cherone on lead vocals. Shortlived as he left VH and the song and video was taken out of rotation and released with Sammy Hagar.

They didn't contact Cherone till both Hagar and Roth were gone. Where did you get this from?

Eddie is a world class d-bag, and the way he treated Sammy and Mikey is an outrage to this day. But if it had to end, Sammy went out on a high note. Because my Christ, this is a great song.

This song has divided some Van Halen fans. I absolutely love it! It's got a great sound, great vocals, a lot of intensity. The music video also kicks ass. I think this was the best look for the band in this stage of their career - all black, Eddie rocking a somewhat shorter cut with beard, etc. It's a shame this was the end of one era, and they never really regained it after.

Van Halen's one of the most unvanhalenic song. Eddie's powerful guitar sound of Sammy's screaming vocal gives heavy metallic chilling. Even the music video is perfect in giving the strength of this song. Great song.
