Eh. I find that many people's judgement is at least partially clouded by nostalgia. Disney stars have about the same net level of talent as they did in 2004 or so. (Some of the shows don't do the actors justice, and they're not all amazing singers or anything, but singing isn't the only marker of talent.)

Disney doesn’t want to pay talented actors like these, so now any kid with no talent or experience can be on a Disney channel show. A lot of these old stars had theater experience.
