Vampire Weekend - Taxi Cab Lyrics
Unsentimental,
Traveling around,
Sure of myself,
Sure of it now,
You were standing so close to me,
In the aisles of the grocery,
In the blocks uptown,
I remember,
Remember well,
But if I'd forgotten,
Could you tell,
In the shadow of your first attack,
I was questioning and looking back,
Like a real aristocrat.
Compound to compound,
Lazy and safe,
Wanted to leave it
Wanted to wait
When the taxi door was open wide,
I pretended I was horrified,
By the uniform and gloves outside
Of the courtyard gate,
You're not a victim,
But neither am I,
Nostalgic for garbage,
Desperate for time,
I could blame it on your mother's hair
Or the colors that your father wears,
But I know that I was never fair,
You were always fine,
Unsentimental,
Traveling around,
Sure of myself,
Sure of it now,
You were standing so close to me,
Like the future was supposed to be,
In the aisles of the grocery,
In the blocks uptown,
I remember,
Remember it well,
And if I'd forgotten,
Could you tell,
In the shadow of your first attack,
I was questioning and looking back,
You were standing on another track,
Like a real aristocrat,

Beautiful tune.
Lollapalooza Chile 2020
It’s like this song was written for that scene in paper towns but it wasn’t. It just fits so perfectly I’m so glad this was in the movie I would’ve died if it wasn’t
This song was pretty boring and pretty bad but I like the very sad tone it emits. But it’s over cheap shit cheap trick (cheap trick are better) indie pop. 1.5/5
This album legitimately helps me get through my anxiety
The piano and strings in this are heaven <3.
Add this to the list of "songs my mother played while she was cooking dinner and I was doing my math homework at the kitchen table." The playlist of my early childhood.
Your mom sounds dope
I love this song
step in its infant form
Wow I was in 8th grade when this album came out, now I’m 22 graduated & not knowing what to do..

Elisabeth Volmar travel the world, see my old gf that went thru mental issues , & live happy
@trill valley Not bad, Enjoy life to the fullest. For some reason, I thought you were an English major. Where is the most interesting place you want to visit?
trill valley Go for it. “Some people live more in 20 years than others do in 80. It’s not the time that matters, it’s the person.” - David Tennant
i have a severe case of nostalgia help
God this album was my life when I was 13.
This is getting ridiculous; I keep finding more and more of vampire weekend's songs that I LOVE.
delicious
2018 and still amazing!
2019 and still amazing
Twenty one pilots have the same titled song
@Sergeant Kipling ok bud I'm sure it's good to someone who likes that type of music but I don't
I think both are equally good. Don't you guys dare crap on my lovely pilots.
Twenty one pilots is not my style so I didn’t bother listening to that song
@nala yasseen Both bands are catchy but 21 Pilots is kind of catchy in an annoying way
@Sergeant Kipling 21 Pilots are fucking terrible. Absolute trash.
This is, has been, and may always be in my top 10 of all time. I hope so.
This album is top five, easily. Let's hope their next one is awesome.
@Ballsrog Indeed
I could have this song on repeat for the rest of my life.
This song is so pretty to the point where it makes me cry
All of Vampire Weekend's songs seem to do that for me :')
This is why I love their music!
good job!!! Go see chanel

"Nostalgic for garbage, desperate for time." This line always hits home.
a knife in my heart
Someone wrote this on the wall of a bathroom at my house years ago, and it always stuck with me.
What is your take on the meaning?
@hkaarsenal to me it means wasting to much time thinking about things that don't matter anymore. Getting stuck in the past then realizing you've wasted a large part of your life on something that didn't deserve it.
sure of myself, sure of it now
funny how songs can change meaning over time
you stand this close to me🐨
in the /aisles/ of the grocery ^^
Yeah, I've realised that since then lol.
ya i shouldve known since its been a month 😂 my bad~
@Emiko Akatsuki No problem, you were just trying to help 😀
