This album helped me to realize, I never liked Vampire Weekend, I liked Rostam (Batmanglij) - without hearing this extremely disappointing production by Ezra Koenig and his Vampire Weekend, I never would have found the seemingly endless list of heat that Rostam has continued to produce, from his OG works as Discovery, his Solo work, and fire collaboration with artists like Hamilton Leithauser.

So Thanks Ezra and “Vampire Weekend” for showing your true colors on FOTB.

Why isn't every review talking about this in particular? Truly iconic and free of any pretentiousness. At least that's how I feel about it. I feel so many critics judge through a filter while this is clearly such a beautifully written and heart wrenching song.

Not to be that pedantic person, but just so people get their due, Hans Zimmer didn't compose the choral songs from Thin Red Line - they are all sung by various Melanesian choirs, compositions unrelated to the film.

This is the ONE. Been playing it nonstop all day. So clever to release the quirkier, more MVotC tracks as singles and save the more orthodox (but if anything more brilliant) likes of this and Married in a Gold Rush for the album. Also, anyone else feeling First Aid Kit vibes?
