I think Vader is more like very dark thrash than death metal. I wouldn't compare it to Gojira, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, etc...altho some people say Behemoth is black metal so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

Ripping Corpse from New Jersey, and Cannibal Corpse (Florida/NY) my favorites consisted of Mercyful Fate-King Diamond/Hellhammer/Celtic Frost/Possessed/Venom/Sodom/Destruction/Exodus/Slayer/Overkill/SOD/Anthrax/VoiVod Motorhead Kreator and about three times that i can’t brainstorm them all, then I heard hardcore punk like Necros, Angry Samoans, Agent Orange Gang Grene Black Flag, Sick Of It All, Biohazard, Sheer Terror Nuclear Assault Bad Brains Cro-mags Fear, TSOL, Meatmen, Meat Puppets, DRI, COC, Broken Bones Sacred Reich (not crossover but their own sub genre) then I heard Napalm Death , fuck yeah! Then the drop tuning styles like Dismember Unleashed, Vader, etc and as the scene faded here the European Death Metal scene was thriving, and my good friends, Deicide, rarely played locally, they were always touring Europe, I didn’t have a passport and couldn’t go (sadface) but I did get to see them play on any given day, (writing refining, and practice back in their garage days, across the street from me) check out Cattle Decap, Dave and the guys got me so drunk at my cousins venue, i blacked out! Talented guys.

i just went to my local record shop today to order necropolis and now i should have made myself order this album. i really haven't listened to vader much but have gotten the groove to finally do it and my god this album is fucking sweet! definitely will order it whenever i pick up the cds i ordered today

I like both, but I'd say they are too different to compare. Behemoth was black metal and it is a blackened death metal band now. Vader is death metal.
