They spent so many prime years not playing to their strengths. In the last decade + Heep has recorded suitable music that they should have played all along. One of the all time greats. Sadly from mid 70's through the 80's due to pressure from labels or some misguided notion of their own they chased radio like a dog after a meat truck to middling results. One bright spot (incredibly bright!) Is 1982s Abominog. It features half of the (at the time) recently dismissed Blizzard of Oz band (Daisly and Kerslake) with great songwriting from Bob Daisly as well as a track (or 2?) from Russ Ballard fresh off hits penned for Rainbow (I Surrender and Since You've Been Gone) Abominog is a 5 out of 5 and it's mystifyingly couched by records such as the one this video comes from. Any causal Heep, rock or metal fan needs to hear that record.

You can't trash the Peter Goalby era or any era of Uriah Heep they changed around a lot, but what do you want from them in 1985 to not have made any progress whatsoever? Not a single change made? You old crusty morons are like the assholes who support trump and Brexit. Moving forward is the only way not stuck in the past. David Byron I wish had been able to come to grips with his addictions and Peter Goalby vanished. What a shame. Gotta say that I'm a sucker for just about anything Heep have done- I admit it!

This album is usually overlooked, but I thought Rockarama was a surprisingly powerful single; it's too bad the band couldn't capitalize on it. Love Bolder's slinky bass on it.

Absolutely one of the worst videos I've ever seen. Chorus is identical to Def Leppard.

The video is super stupid, the snare accents and the chorus sounds like Def Leppard because it's the same genre and the same period of time. But it has drive and the "give me rock'n'roll" chorus is a good concept but just put into a popmetal song where it doesn't fit.

Peter Goalby was the best Uriah Heep vocalist, just listen to him, he's amazing :D
