Goaby would do a better job if he had recorded Conquest album. Sloman is a good singer, he fits perfectly with Gary Moore, but in Heep, absolutely no. Trevor Bolder is the highlight on Conquest. No return is the best song of the album, my opinion.
From Think it Over, an excellent single to this which is just pure trash... Uriah Heep was in a lot of trouble during this time.
Yeah man, Byron and Lawton were good fits in UH. Sloman was horrible. Even Pete Goalby and Bernie Shaw make more sense

@palg123 I suppose thats a matter of opinion, but Goalby filled in admirably for Glenn Hughes in Trapeze, and he lasted three albums over 3 years with Heep. Sloman barely lasted one, he really didn't understand what Mick Box and Ken Hensley were trying to create with Conquest. I can't say Sloman has no talent, but Lonestar and UH Conquest are not my cup of tea. Sloman had a voice, but seemed a bit tone deaf. He's everywhere on Conquest, which is pretty uniform musically. What Goalby lacked in range he made up for by being in tune and consistent.

What key is this song supposed to be in? Hard for me to figure out.
Ask John Sloman. His voice was everywhere with Heep. They were likely compensating.
