Urge Overkill - (Now That's) The Barclords Lyrics

ah 1 2 3
Stately barclord manor stands
over on Beethoven street
ask anyone who knows the hurried town
barclords are the ones to meet

your never seen on one side of the world
they move along without a care
cause when the brother is on the run
brother you got nothin to say

now that's the barclords
now that's the sound of the world today
now that's the barclords
that's how the barclords do it
here we come

scaly barclord manor standing
over on Beethoven's dresser
some try to run when the barclords come in
I wouldn't put it past ya
seated long side a mahogony table
the sisters all let down their hair
first they feast then they're havin some fun
and you don't got nobody to play
cause the barclords never give it away no no

now that's the barclords
now that's the sound of the world today
now that's the barclords
yes that's how the barclords do it

that's how the barclords are doin'
and there's sugar my head, sugar my head, sugar my head, sugar
my head, sugar my head
sweet sweet sugar in my head
Ooh!

Sisters and master now in beethoven's dresser [?]
now that's the barclords
now that's hoe the barclords do it
now that's the barclords
let's go

that's how the barclords do it

Not sure which song I like more... this, or the B side on the single 'What's This Generation Coming To?'

Great song to listen to when you're Stoned! I still haven't any idea who these aforementioned 'Barclords' are though.

  4. S.... ....

A song from the new Jason Loewenstein record brought me here. I'll try to find it.

Awesome song! Yaay the 90s. I remember listening to this song over and over again, trying to figure out what the lyrics were and what they meant. Still wouldn't have a clue. But, great song!

I worked for the band in the early 90's and knew them somewhat since college. The Barclords" was a name used by the band for secret shows. The song is about the band itself, and it's ethos, with some self-aggrandizing layered on. Typical of how Urge did things.
