Underworld - Stand Up Lyrics
What d'you see when you look at me?
You got somethin' you need to say
Your eyes are cryin' but your voice is still
Well don't wait for charity to pay your bill, now now
Stand up, it's time to turn your tide
Just once tell me what you keep behind those eyes
We all plead intentions but the devil's intentions aren't good, ya know
Everybody has got their cross
But you wear yours right across your face
You're damning me with your sainted eyes
Suffering our compromise, now now
Stand up, the door is open wide
Just once tell me what you keep behind those eyes
We all plead intentions but the devil's intentions aren't good
Stand up, the door is open wide
Stand up, it's time to turn your tide
Just once tell me what you keep behind those eyes
We all plead intentions but the devil's intentions aren't good, ya know
Stand up, the door is open wide
Stand up, it's time to turn your tide
Just once tell me what you keep behind those eyes
We all plead intentions but the devil's intentions aren't good...

Underworld Stand Up Comments
Loved them from the get go
Underworld is my favorite electronic music act, but definitely this is also really good pop music from the 80’s....
Thankyou, great artists and ingenious lyrics. Prophetic? Is that a shiny oasis in a deserted background? maybe just a reflection. Wonder if some realized that The Devil's intentions were Goode we would stop praying to Yesus asking for money.
Top class......music on simply a different level.....the 80's....music will never be the same.....
Memories!!!!!!
I actually prefer this to the way they are now.
They have come really far ... Have changed so much now.
its actually not a bad album at all as long as you listen to it as 80s pop and not much more
what an awful boring song...and the "hahahaha" chore is just ridiculously lousy
This is OK but what Underworld became is fabulous!
wow how they changed ...
I NEED THIS ALBUM! OMFG! I played this at WBNY back in the day!
@shmuli9 na I hear it still. it just evolved - peace
I had this album.... They DID change their sound over the years, rather drastically...
I think that this is one of the best tunes ever !
I saw these guys open for the Eurythmics in Montreal in 1989...what an awesome show.
I was well acquainted with Underworld as the dance trio-then-duo before I came across "Change the Weather" at a used-CD store. Oh man, the '80s.
I think Karl still uses the letter-covered Les Paul - I remember seeing it on the "Everything, Everything" DVD.
Thanks for the post1 Loved this song ever since I first heard it in the late 80's (early 90's)
