Underworld - Pray Lyrics
Pray for me as you would a child
In a land of oppression
Millions cry around the world
But I cry in your back garden
It's no revolution, but it's somethin'
Somethin' we can do
Pray all the day
All the
All the day
All the day
Pray for me as you do for peace
In a world of aggression, hear me
For us to show some affection
Pray for me and I'll pray for you
It's no revolution, but it's somethin'
Somethin' we can do
Pray all the day
All the
All the day
All the
As it was in the beginning, so shall it be
Until next week

Still got my vinyl copy that I bought spankin' new in the 80s! This was the song - that late night one that I'd just play over and over. Feeling it wash over you...
Even more relevant today.
One of my favs from back in the day I still have the cd
For some reason, This band would like everyone to forget about this album.
one of the best..amazing
Sampled by Hayao Yamaneko.
love time and space
Understated but very powerful - like prayer itself - stellar track.
Beautiful tune from a time when Karl wasn't so cryptic about his lyrics.
One of eternal songs, that touches everything, and everyone
ayayayayay
shizen no kamae jutsuwaza
I got this cassette album back in the 1980s - I think 1987. Had forgotten about this group until recently. I purchased the CD version from Amazon - don't think there are too many left. Great listening.
They r the wizards of sounds, like the doors of electronic music. They wright some very euphoric music. There's not really a way to explain the feelings there music gives u. That's pretty hard to come buy.
есть это на виниле... Прелесть
Strange techno BAHAHA seriously UNDERWORLD ARE Renown for their trance techno drum bass . I didn't know they where a rock band in the 80s before I was born LOL no offense dude but they did well switching from lame soft rock to the amazing sounds of BORN SLIPPY AND 2 months off . KARL HYDE RICK SMITH THANK YOU FOR THE RAVE ;) .
so true! I loved them back in the 80s and didnt realize until the mid to late 90s after born slippy they were the same group I had been listening to all along lol..felt kinda daft but guess I know what I like even if not realizing the details!
Captivating song that resembles the last echo of when they were formally known as FREUR.
i've got some live footage of the band from 89 in Berlin. will post once copied from video to dvd.
wow! i saw them a couple of times in london at the old marquee club!
It was at a small club in Memphis, Tennesse. They were great!
@jbnosaints
where abouts did you see them play?
how could they make this beautiful music and afterwards that strange and non-melodic techno/whatever??
Thank you! This song brings back some great memories...
I was working in a record shop as a teenager (so 80's)...and the boss let me pick one album to take home from a shipment. I chose this one. I also stole one of the posters. What memories.
Such a classic album - I never tire of it.
The title track, Underneath the radar, and this one are certainly my favorites,
This song reminds fo a special person, half a world away!!
Underworld Mk1 was the best Underworld!!
Tear-inducingly empathetic. Why does the melody remind me of "Twin Peaks?"
yeah brilliant mate. well done, so few people who know Underworld know of this early work.
- and yes one of the best songs written, at least as far as I am concerned..... the ultimate song of mutual empathy for each and every one of us.
man this song brings back memories
Great post!! Thank you! I was fortunate to see these guys live on this tour in '88... great song!
